Bruce Lee - The Legend (Founder of Jeet Kune Do)

Hi there!

I guess all of us guys are familiar with Bruce Lee. I was browsing some stuffs on the internet when I reached a page which talks about a chapter of his life.

To give you an insight, here's a brief review of the life of the legendary martial artist.

Bruce Lee was not just a Hong Kong American martial artist but also an action film actor, martial arts instructor and a filmmaker. He was considered the most influential martial artists of all time, and a pop culture icon of the 20th century.

Mr. Lee was born in Chinatown, San Francisco on November 27, 1940 to parents from Hong Kong and was raised in Kowloon until his late teens. He was introduced to the film industry by his father and appeared in several films as a child actor. He moved to the US when he was 18 to get his higher education. He went to University of Washington and he began teaching martial arts. His Hong Kong and Hollywood-produced films elevated the traditional Hong Kong martial arts film to a new level of popularity and acclaim, sparking a surge of interest in Chinese martial arts in the West in the 1970's. The direction and tone of his films changed and influenced martial arts and martial arts films in the United States, Hong Kong and the rest of the world.

On July 20, 1973 (at the age of 32), Mr. Lee died in hypersensitivity to either meprobamate or aspirin as to what the autopsy explains.

Bruce Lee was truly an anomaly of a man, and he earned it by his sweat, persistence, intellectual hunger, and desire to be the greatest he could be.

I'm a HUGE fan of his philosophies on life, success, and well... pretty much everything else.

So many people know him as the guy who could kick everyone's butt with his hands tied behind his back but he was so much greater than that.

His physical aptitude, as impressive as it was, absolutely pales in comparison to his beliefs and ideas that he shared with other people.

He is one of my greatest inspirations; whenever I feel challenged, I ask myself "what would Bruce Lee suggest to me?"

Thanks for sharing this with the Warriors here; if any of you are reading this and you aren't familiar with Bruce Lee's philosophies, do yourself a massive favor and research it.

    Regards,
    Daniel

His movie persona was cool, but his way of living life was way cooler.

I still live with his philosophies in the martial arts. "Forget the fancy stuff. If it works, use it. Use everything you can master."

There's a video on youtube of Bruce Lee playing ping pong with nunchucks.

It's amazing. That man is one of the best examples of what can be achieved when you focus.

Mr Lee is obviously a legend of the Kung Fu & Hollywood world. But he has so many quotes that have impacted the world even to this day!

His favorite for me is water. Be like water.

Its a metaphor for being able to adjust to whatever may come. Amazing. Dude is an inspiration

    I love his philosophies too!
Here's my favorite quotes from him:

"Defeat is a state of mind; no one is ever defeated until defeat has been accepted as a reality"

    and

"I fear not the man who has practice 10,000 kicks once; but I fear the man who has practice one kick 10,000 times."
