What Is the Cause of Such Behavior?

I heard it all - take action and be consistent because each small checked off task builds momentum bringing you closer to your goal. It's what I have been doing for last almost 2 years to the point of seeing manifestation of inner change. I am different, my diet is different, I put my business before me that I hardly have time for myself. I almost don't shop as I would years ago, I no longer watch TV, I don't go out because there's nowehere to go actually, I don't read personal development books and the only thing I read is information pertinent to my business and that rarely.

Most of my time I work on my business, including weekends. I would say between 10-14 hours per day over time because I am not productive enough being perfectionist and one who leaves no stone unturned. I wake up between 6:00AM - 7:00AM and work on myself by exercising 3 times per day - 40 minutes in the morning, 10 minutes before afternoon and 15 minutes afternoon. I often have issue focusing and instead of being proactive I can get reactive and spend the rest of the day doing stuff that is not important. And while this is something that undermines my effort of being consistent with daily routine there is something more important that troubles me.

I have been having ups and downs from behavior perspective. I have noticed that I can be excited, focused, have clear mind and creative for 1 or 2 weeks until suddenly I "lose my spirit" feeling hopeless. It can be small problem that can trigger this or it can be just me waking up and hating to start working on my business. Sometimes it feels like a torture and there is no light at the end of the tunnel. This lasts for 1 or 2 days and then I slowly recover, move business forward until time comes and I feel this again.

What in your opinion might cause this? Does anyone here felt or feels that way? Focus is the most important thing but not less is excitement. Excitement is motivation and focus allows us to enter the flow where no time exists and only we exist while our thoughts are in what we do. With laser focus there is nothing that can distract us and it's what makes things happen. With issue I described above I have neither when that happens and I need someone's perspective on that issue who can hopefully chime in and advise.

Thank you.

    Hello,
    Thanks for your topic ;-)
Do you like your job? Because when you lost your spirit during efforts it's can be dangerous in the long term: I talk about the burnout. Excess of excitations and motivations you finish to be in the pressure. Result: you are very tired physically and in your mind.
Try to find a leverage: that's mean to still focus only on that you like and your strenght on your job.
But if you don't know make something, you can delegate; and you will earn time.
Or if you don't like your job, you can make a plan for the future ;-)

Losing your spirit sums it up.

Sometimes we need a few triggers (aka commands) that are implanted with continual programming. Ever thought delving in something spiritual, something that clicks your fancy, something you can cling on.

The modern human being is overly consumed by messages that are counter-intuitive. They have become shallow and apathetic due to social conditioning: repetitive and monotonous messages that could easily dwindle one's perception no matter how bright that person is.

Even self-help these days is impertinent to your growth.

What I would do if I were you is visualize the process down to the core with every imaginable detail. Envision the person you want to be sans the peccadillo - no more flaws, no more friction. Nada. The power of visualization is imminent and could be the missing piece of the puzzle once awakened...

    Hi Felix,

One of the best books I've read, and fortunately it is a short one lol, is 'Do the Work' by Stephen Pressfield.

I encourage you to read it. It describes exactly what you're talking about.

It's not unusual. It happens to me all the time.

Life is all about cycles; summer and winter, young and old, ups and downs. It's normal and to be expected.

That book I mentioned, helped me to realise that it doesn't matter how I feel, I just do the work anyway!

    Great read.

You mean the more I am excited and motivated the sooner I get this burnout? Does that mean I should not over excite myself and use this energy sparingly?

Are you talking about subliminal messages that negatively affect our ego?

I would say most of my time I am not exposed to such messages and I read recommended self-help/motivational books.

Stephen Pressfield? Don't you mean Steven Pressfield?

I have read "The War Of Art" by Steven Pressfield. How does "Do the Work" compare to it?

If it makes you feel better i believe what you are going though is normal especially when you are trying to pursue a worth while goal. Why do you think most people give up before realizing their dreams. I sometimes go through it because there are days where things don't work, days you have doubts, days when people ask you, "What are you doing?"

You will get to a breaking point, but you need to believe in your dream. Believe hat if other people can do it so can you,. You need to develop your BIG "WHY?" Why are you trying to be successful? Who in the world are you trying to help? Do not just do it for the money, have a deeper reason cause believe you me once the money starts coming you will realize that money is not every thing... when i experience such days i usually just listen to motivational audios or videos.

Oddly enough, I get that too sometimes. When it's time to work, you get things done... but then after a while you just feel... tired. Perhaps that's "burnout."

You say you work every single day, right? Why don't you try setting aside a day every week where you do NOTHING work related. Jack Canfield calls those "Free days" (The Success Principles) and they're for mental recovery.
I do that every Sunday myself. Very often, I get my best ideas on Sunday mornings while reading a good book and drinking a cup of brewed tea.

Its the nature of your work. You are working in isolation and letting work dominate your every existence.

The problem is that you're forgetting to live!

The purpose of life is to live! We work so that we may live and you're currently living to work. You don't take time to enjoy the fruits of your labor. You're putting in all this time and focusing only on your business that you forgot about yourself.

What are you doing to live and make yourself grow?
What can you do to bring that spark and passion into your life?
    What is your dream vacation?
    What excites you?
When was the last time you bought something that you actually wanted? For yourself not for you business...

Your business is important but it's there to support you and help you live a fully charged and energized life. It shouldn't deplete you of your life source.

You should start reading personal development book they help you grow as a person which will help your business grow as well.

Take time to live and I guarantee your spirit will be revived!

Learn to live, love, give and never stop growing.
