Do you believe that the thoughts we dwell upon ultimately create are reality or is some other force such as predestination or fate involved

I believe that are most predominate thoughts will ultimately manifest themselves

I look forward to your opinions.

Think of a missile taking off, working against gravity.

    It takes massive energy.

Thus your thoughts are the propulsion system.

If you're programmed to believe in an alternate reality, it can become your reality.

I think whatever we hold in our minds will shape our future. How strongly you feel and visualise will affect the outcome too. If you have a strong inner vision, then this will drive you to take more action towards your goals.

    Interesting question.
    : )

Personally I think we create our own "fate." (By the thoughts and actions we take) ... To literally mean: "Be destined to happen, turn out, or act in a particular way."

    Hey Tom,
I love this topic as I have observed it in my life and everyone else's that we create our own fate.

It's funny though because you can see that in two different ways.

You can believe that you create your destiny and fate and then you do, or could believe that fate is something that just happens to you.

All in all, what matters is thought....literally. What you think is the beginnings of all things.

If you think you can do something then you will, if you think you can't then you can't. Thought is the powerful pre-cursor to all things.

Even if someone thinks that something is controlling them, then they will see soon enough that their thoughts will prove them right.

Infact the universal law of attraction will always please you....it will give you what you think about often and it is always consistent.
The question remains for most of us.....what are we consistently thinking about??? The good, the bad ...the ugly?-Jennifer

Scientists claim that the probability that we would exist is 1:400,000,000,000,000 (source: Are You a Miracle? On the Probability of Your Being Born). I argue that the probability an individual would exist once they exist is 1:1. If we exist, then we were destined to exist, otherwise we would not exist. There are an infinite number of variables to calculate when observing the probability of fate. If we knew all of the variables and functions of existence, then fate would be the name of the computer we use to compile data.

What is fate but a sequence of events played out exactly as intended or predetermined?

Does thought exist outside of reality? All thought really is, is connecting neurons. Thoughts physically occur within the brain. What is the past but a sequence of events leading to the present? What is the future but the past plus the present moment? Are we able to affect the variables on a level of which we can adjust the course of the future, or are our thoughts and actions merely results of the accumulation of the past? What is the present moment?

I believe there is power in the present moment. When mentally and physically connecting to the present moment, we are in sync with the universe. If we focus on the past, we never grow as individuals. If we focus on the future, we may look back and miss our life. It is only in the present moment in which we can truly observe and appreciate our existence and the impact we have. When we view the universe on a grand scale, however, our impact is comparable to that of the common ant.

It depends if one is using the concept of fate to justify failures or anything important that one is not satisfied with or to feel more certain of the positive outcome

Otherwise, why bother? The most important thing is to make things work out as you wish
