Whatever your dream is, it is not too late to achieve it. You aren't a failure because you haven't found fame and fortune by the age of 21. Hell, it's okay if you don't even know what your dream is yet. Even if you're flipping burgers, waiting on tables or answering phones today, you never know where you'll end up tomorrow.

Never tell yourself you're too old to make it.
Never tell yourself you missed your chance.
Never tell yourself that you aren't good enough.
You can do it. Whatever it is. To
Take Action and prove to yourself you can do it.

    I especially agree with this.

Ultimately, YOU are the guru (as Frank Kern once put it).

    Great share, Jason.

    Hi Jason,

    I love it.

I had no clue in hell who I was at 36. I still have no idea who I am; but I've had fun, I've followed my fun, and went from broke, laid off, depressed security guard at 36 to world traveling, island hopping blogger.

Time is not an element in any success equation. Goodness, it never really IS hard. Honest.

Why does it seem hard? Everybody on that list, before they made it big, or, got some fame, was just unclear on their intent.

    Lack of clarity = hard/difficult/struggle.

    Clarity = easy/free/smooth flowing.

My life changed when I followed my fun. In that moment, the fun became the reward. Didn't need money. Or traffic. Or business. Or blog readers. My writing was fun, so writing was my reward.

Of course, when you already got your reward, whatever you don't need flows to you. Money, traffic, all that stuff felt like extra. And it flowed to me.

The world famous folks followed their passion, their fun, loved honing their craft, and fame and/or money flowed to them as they shared their passion with the world.

What a lovely process. Gets easier and easier as you follow your fun and leave the slaving for folks who don't get it.

    It's an energy/intent thing.

Move your focus from trying to make money online to creating something you have fun creating, for a specific person, and build bonds with successes in your niche, and magic will unfold in your life.

Things'll get easier and easier, and you may just find yourself on that list.

    Thanks much for the inspiration.

    Signing off from sunny NJ.

    This is very true!

Keeping with your post subject "So you think MMO & IM is hard!!"

When you really look at it, life can be "hard" in several professions....

You have "Professionals" in everything from Accounting to Web Development working 60-70 hours a week plus their commuting time just to "keep" their salaried job..... Sure, they could just tell their boss they choose to no longer work "free overtime." Those people will be quickly fired.

That group has it hard.... Do you want to see your Wife and kids.... or keep your job? That is a daily battle for many, many people.

The sad thing about those "Professionals" is some of them aren't even earning what someone working in a "Trade" earns per hour.... Master Electricians earn more than some "Professionals" when you do the math.

MMO & IM is very hard when you're running around always learning, chasing shiny balls and not building a business... All you are doing is buying.

Once you focus on building a real business solving people's problems and selling.... and NOT buying, things improve quickly.

Jason, good post. I think besides the "don't fret because you think you are too old" part another part is equally important and that is to take the long haul look at whatever you are doing.

For example, many of the people that quit out of frustration in this forum do so after just a few months or even weeks.

I don't believe people should keep doing the same thing they've been doing if it isn't working. I think they should adjust as problems arise or as their desired success isn't achieved.

And while I do believe that not all have what it takes and should quit if things aren't working and they aren't making the proper adjustments, most people that quit do it too quickly because they expect instant success.

Don't look at this business (or weight loss or learning any new skill) with the "7 days or bust" attitude but realize it takes a lot of hard, consistent work doing the right things for a long time before true and lasting success is realized. Even then, we still need to be improving or we risk losing what we gained.

Your post in indeed ton of a motivation! The examples that you have quoted show that it is never late in life to try out something that you are passionate about.

Yes of course, you must believe in what you are doing and what you are capable of achieving. There will be may naysayers. But you must choose to listen to your heart rather than listening to them!

IM may be hard...BUT it's exciting. The excitement of creating a better sustainable future for yourself and those around you whilst pursuing your dreams, is an awesome "hard" task to have. Travelling 5 hours a day to work to build someone's dreams who you probably haven't even met is as they say "the definition of insanity"...something I was getting close to haha
