Law of Attraction, Putting my mind to it! Lets Talk about Stocks

I have learned a lot since I started my motivation to becoming financially free when I was 15 years old. I have had my ups and downs, I've done all sorts of online marketing, and even started my own League of Legends ELO boosting business. I am currently 20 years old and I'm still not quitting, I'm trying to think positive everyday, work harder and harder to achieve my goal.

Currently (even though it may not be something many people do here on this forum) I am trying to find my place in the stock market. I have had major ups and downs, and I am working everyday to find my own strategy and trying to lose my emotions within the market.

I started this thread to just kind of motivate myself and ask if theres anyone out there with their own story in the stock market. I have been doing it for 5 months now paper trading and I'm going to start live soon. I do have negative energy factors in my life, people like my mom/dad/girlfriend, making me feel like I'm making a huge mistake. However I believe that if you put your mind to something, you can achieve anything.

I would love to hear your story. Thanks.

Yes, most people fail on day trading stocks for the same reasons "poor money mgt. & lack of discipline". Without any help/solid advice from someone successful, go to my profile for additional help.

I've done the same, but with Forex (mainly technical and only around 30% fundamental). I found I do badly when I try to use multiple strategies at once, and I do somewhat well when I stick to my main strategy (Double Bollinger).

Anyway, if your techniques work for you then stick to them. Learning how to avoid emotional traps is something else though, and I don't have tips for that (except for waiting a bit to let the emotions die down).

I've been trading for 5+ years now and have used various different strategies

The important thing you need to understand is that success in trading has very little to do with the strategy (or strategies) you use. All a strategy can do is push the odds in your favor over the long term.

Strategies can't stop you from entering a trade too early nor can they stop you from entering a trade too late. They also cannot stop you from over-trading on impulse or stop you from abandoning your money management strategy.

One more tip. Stop trying to "lose your emotions". Emotions aren't like light switches. You can't just turn them on and off whenever you want. They're biological. They're built into you. What you need to do is manage your emotions by developing emotional intelligence.

One of the main reasons why so many amateur traders fail is because they don't realize that the type of mindset needed for successful trading is drastically different to their default mental programming

Our default mental programming is NOT equipped to handle the mental demands of live trading. Trading requires specific mental skills that need to be developed BEFORE consistent results can be achieved. Not even the most reliable strategy in the world will save you from losing money unless you master the mental side of trading

Keep going and keep learning all you can. Good luck

My story is similar to yours, but you seem really motivated,I wanted to be financially free to but I was doing some physical work when I was 15,16 and 17 and then I discovered I can earn by sitting at home and working,I mean this is not easy but it is easier than working on a construction platform.

I salute you for going for your goal in life.
I've never traded but I sure am interested in it. My self development proved me I must distant myself from people that do not nourish me and help me towards achieving my goals even if it's my family.

My family is in Israel and I live in New Zealand.

Just go for it and maybe try online marketing as I find it to be controllable. You can really build an online biz over time, yes it takes time but if you have the perseverance power that you do I can guarantee your success faster than with trading.

      All the best!
