5 reasons why you need to empty your mind

Bruce Lee in one of his interviews talks about emptying your mind and to be like water.

This statement has a great philosophy of life. Our mind is crowded with thousands of thoughts per minute. They distract us from our focus, disturbs us and make our life miserable.
So you can understand why it is important to empty your mind from the avalanche of thoughts. Here are the 5 major reasons to emphasize my point:

1. You cannot make right decisions if your mind is constantly flooded with thoughts because most of these thoughts are not desirable

2. With mind full of thoughts, it is very difficult to concentrate on something

3. As the old adage goes, "As your thoughts are, so are your words and actions". If there are too many thoughts going on in your mind then it affects your communication, because you remain confused over what to say.

4. Your learning curve gets affected for obvious reasons

5. You cannot remain in complete control of yourself.

Once you learn the art of emptying your mind, you'll have a better control over yourself and your life!

    Meditation for a minimum of 20 minutes a day is a life changer. The process of learning to stop thinking is possibly one of the most difficult things I've done haha

      I found out the effects of meditation and they're great, but I've always struggled to create a habit of it. I have even been to Vipassana retreat and I'd recommend it to everyone interested in meditation. But the key is to consistently practice it day in, day out.

      Any tips?

        Even I have been a practitioner of Vipassana. Been through the rigorous 10 days meditation course at one of their retreat center. But simply attending the course is not enough. You need to practice it.

        My practice has been every morning for half hr. In addition I keep referring to the videos of the discourses which you can find on Youtube.

        This simple discipline has been helping me to stay connected to the meditation mode.

    We really need to empty our minds every once in a while.

    We really can't think through if our mind is full of unnecessary thoughts.

    W should free our mind from negativity and replace it with positive ones.

      The exercise is good, but it would be best to solve the reason why one's mind is flooded with thoughts, especially because it is not easy to meditate while your doing something important and your mind starts to flood 😂
