What Do You Do To Improve Your Life?

Hi everyone,

This is my first post in warrior forum. In the last few years I have noticed that I have an interest in self-development. I always tend to push myself to the limit in almost everything I do, and I end up learning something new about myself.

Because of the interest I have in self-development I ended up creating a blog Art of Personal Living. | Life Tips; for your life.. To help people understand themselves using Psychology.

The most difficult thing in life is to know Yourself. By Thales

I believe that knowing yourself is a critical key to succeeding in life, and I also know that everyone does something no matter how small to improve their life.

Let me know what you are doing for yourself in order to improve your life.

You really have to know your strengths and weaknesses first to succeed. You have to know where you do great and know those areas where you still need improvements. I always see to it that I do better than I did.

I will start with this that "A healthy body keeps a healthy mind." Basically what i wanna say is my personal experience that if you are not getting proper diet then your brain will stop the way it use to work like you will not feel motivated in learning new skill or even learning new thing your life will be stagnant you do not want to go forward.

Sorry i did not know that pressing enter will post. Continued...when you brain and body gets proper diet then you will feel charged and love to learn new things. Then after that key point is do those things which you love to do, Do think about scope because you do not know after 1 months what is the scope of your current field. So by doing what you love to do will make you satisfy in the end that i did what i love to do even if it has scope or not. Worth it

5 years ago I never thought twice about self improvement outside of working out, which I have done for over 15 years. Now on top of that I listen to podcasts, audio books and speakers on a daily basis. I have a goal to hit 2 books a month for the next 12 months! I have have seen so much success and have been fortunate through my self development and improvement. 4 years ago I started a Personal Training Company that now has 3 locations and still growing. I am now also helping others develop by offering a blog and podcast as I love to see people succeed in not just fitness, but in life! It all starts with your mindset and what you think is even possible.

I recently went on a low fat high protein medeterannian diet which focuses, on veggies, beans, nuts, whole grains, and fish(bottom of the food chain fish such as salmon, mackerel, trout, sardines, anchovies, and white fish which contain low amounts of mercury) on a daily basis and cut my poultry to once a week whether that's duck, chicken, or turkey and cut my red meat and pork intake to once a month. I have lost 30 lbs and I have the motivation and focus that I've never had before. I was born with adhd and this has really helped me gain my focus without having to take medicine or smoke weed(quit that too)

Hey Duncan93 thanks for your sharing.

4 years ago I have begun my current job like guardian of building. I have no reason to be unhappy, I got my own home without paid rent, big TV, video games, cinema cards, make sports, free times, travel very often... but yes I was unhappy ; moreover I suffered of the affective addiction.
It's here I have begun the personal development. Everyday I learned, I read, I made exercises and I applied.
Today, no TV, no video games, no cinema cards and no toxic people. I learn, I read and I have a blog and a vlog ;-)

As others have mentioned, a good diet is hugely important. The other secret ingredient is rest. You need to give your body an opportunity to heal and replenish itself. You don't want to be "on the grind" all of the time. Being productive is important, but not if it starts to compromise your health

There's a reason medical professionals recommend 8 hours of sleep per night

I do a lot of reading. On average, I read 2 books a month.
And I have adopted this habit since many years ago.
Looking back at it, I've learned so much and I've come to where I am right now.
I never regretted the money I spent onto buying books and attending seminars.
The only thing I regret is not being consistent and not taking enough action.

4 years ago, i graduate from college, i thought it is a very important event in my life, but God have a different idea. i fail in a relationship, and it really get a hit on me, i depress for weeks, sometimes i thought of committing suicide. but one night, feeling so depressed, i open youtube to find some video to kill some times, for some reason, video of brian tracy come into my recommendation, it never happen before. i click on the video, listen to him, just a few minutes of talking, he changes my life forever, i continue clicking on his other videos, and finally got to the preaching video of joel osteen. my life has never been the same again.
before i graduate, many friends talk about personal development, i always thought it is a fraud, it is not real, i never even believe a bit in it. but things change from that day onward and before i know it, i become a student of self development. things keep progressing since then, not always good times, but also many bad times, but i keep moving forward. the right resource and people just keep popping up at the right time to pick me up again and encourage me to keep going. i have not reach my big goal yet, but i always have faith that i will

Besides that I I keep learning and have a willingness to learn new skills within marketing to be able to improve my life. Besides that I of course need to take care of my body as well, through a healthy diet. because with a healthy diet comes a healthy mind

I read a lot of books as well (my 25 recommended).

If you keep reading self-improvement, not only will you get ideas on how to improve your life, you also constantly remind AND inspire yourself to do it. Sometimes the ideas in certain subjects are similar, however each author has a different voice in their writing and they often present those ideas in different angles. Some of them may resonate with you better.

Anyway, point is: keep reading good books. They help.

    I focus on balance.

I spent a long time running myself ragged in the corporate world, so much so that my health and family relationships both suffered immensely.

I came to the point where I had to take a step back before something serious happened.
Since that point, I work hard within a reasonable working week, I exercise every day, I eat well, I make time for friends and family and I also make quality time for myself.

Good sleep and rest are extremely important as are controlled breathing and meditation.

I find that by balancing all of those key areas in my life, I am able to give 100% to each one but on top of that, because I now look after myself too, I can also enjoy each element to the max.

I can honestly say my life has improved ten-fold from this time last year

I've learned that the achievement of most goals are pretty simple. $100 a day or even $500 a day. The problem is execution. One must look at his goal, break it down into small steps, and commit to executing his plan of action on a daily basis. If self-accountability is not enough, one must seek an accountability coach or partner.

What Do You Do To Improve Your Life?
    Easy! Goals!
It's thanks to Brian Tracy that I discovered the power of goals.
It's impossible to make a lot of money somewhere in future, but it is possible to make one million dollars within 3 years from your online business.
It is impossible to improve your life, but it is possible to
    get happier
    get motivated
    get inspired
    change your eating habits
    improve your relationships.

Once you know what it is you want to improve, you make a plan and start improving toward the direction of your goal!

Hi Duncan93! For me, I do away with the bad and always for the goodness in everything. Aside from that, I do my best to be happy at all times and avoid negative emotions as this will only lead to stress... I pray to God for guidance always and I follow this motto:

"Do your ordinary duties extraordinarily well"

I've learned this on one of my travels overseas and I still adhere to it whether I'm fulfilling my duties as a family man or working hard to earn more money online (thanks to the offerwall being provided by the affiliate company I'm registered in)...

      I just do self development.

In 2011 I discovered self development and sunk into it ever since. i never watch TV nor do I listen to the radio in my car, rather I listen to Stephen Covey, Jim Rohn, Brian Tracy and lots and lots of Napoleon Hill, I listen to Tony Robbins and Bob Proctor, I read The Secret now for the third time and delve deeper into it.

I have found that immersing myself in that content makes me happy as I love stimulating conversation that I find really hard to have with humans.

After my divorce 2 years ago, life has been hell. With my business failing as well, it's all about getting up from the ruin.

One thing for sure is that I never gave up. Even if I would have to start from scratch again, so be it.

    Here's what I tried
    1. Subconscious energy healing
    2. Guided meditation/mindfulness meditation
    3. Identifying my money blueprint.
4, Getting my health back with sports.
    5. Learning new skills like blogging.

The point is grit and determination is only as effective as the mindset that powers it.

    Cheers,

Great post man. And i really like the sleek simple design of the blog. Great stuff. I'd look at the colors but thats just me...

Personally I blogged about my 7 steps to success in my blog. Basically:

    Decide exactly what you want
Determine what you’re going to give up to get it
Pick an exact date you want it by
Create a plan, at the very least your next step, to achieve your goal
Write out a clear & concise mission statement
Repeat your mission statement every morning & night
Take action – preferably right now & daily!

    Hope this helps!

I started a journal to help me think clearly and to keep track of my goals. For some years, I noticed I didn't accomplish much because I never had big, specific goals, nor have I given myself any deadline. This time, I want to feel I moved my life forward at the end of every year. I want to prove to myself that I can make things happen for myself and not just wish for them.

I hold true to having Faith. I believe that God has a purpose and path for me... been thru so many ups and downs... you get to a point where you surrender and quit trying to be in control. I feel that in this way it allows God to make the decisions. I know myself and truly have always pushed too hard all my life. Finally I am letting go and seeing what manifests in thanks to less persistence (causing me so much resistance.) With love and joy all good things happen.

One thing I'm doing now in order to improve my life is to "Feel good now" and take action from that good feeling state of being on the things I have listed out for myself to take action on for the day in my to-do list.

When you take action towards your desires from the right state of mind, you attract people, places, circumstances and synchronistic events to you which move you closer to what it is you want.

    I just quote these lines:
To know a species, look at its fears. To know yourself, look at your fears. Fear in itself is not important, but fear stands there and points you in the direction of things that are important. Don't be afraid of your fears, they're not there to scare you; they're there to let you know that something is worth it.
