The Best Ways of Improving Your Decision Making Process
Well, I'm definitely not a fan of this decide how to decide approach. I think it's not effective and it can cause you so much trouble while you're trying to find your right decision way. That's why I would like to propose an idea of the so-called unconventional decision-making process. The good thing about it is that you don't know what you can expect to gain. The bad thing is still the same, expect the unexpected.
Rule #1 - Your decision way or the highway
Here's a simple premise. Your decision. Your responsibility. Your victory or failure. Don't waste your time by asking yourself what some of the successful marketers would've done, if he or she was to walk in your shoes. Every situation is unique and there are very few stereotype scenarios in the modern Internet marketing world. So relax, while you worry about your next decision. Just make sure it's truly yours.
Rule #2 - There are very few life-changing decisions at your disposal
It's understandable that you treat your Internet marketing career with the utmost care and attention. It's the only one you got. However, if you're going to treat each and any of your decision in Hamlet's to-be-or-not-to-be style, then you won't be successful in a decision-making business. You need to take care of so many things on a daily basis while running your Internet business or a campaign. Are you sure that all of your decisions are worthy of your full attention and unlimited time? Just decide and move on. Don't treat every single decision as if it's the life-changer.
Rule #3 - Better to make the wrong decision - quickly, than to be late with the right one
When it comes to the decision-making process time matters. You need to come up with the right decision at the right moment. That's great, but how many times have you experienced this win-win situation, honestly? That's why, you should be fully aware of the time importance. If you're going to end up with a wrong decision, then it's better to realize you made a mistake as soon as possible in order to have time to fix the damage. What's the use, if you come up with the right decision, but too late?
Rule #4 - There's no decision-making contest
You may have this funny feeling that someone's breathing down your neck while you're trying to reach the right decision. However, that's just your imagination. There's no audience to cheer up for you or criticize every move you make. That's just you and your Internet marketing plan. No one is going to give you a gold medal for a life achievement in decision-making process. At the same time, you're not going to end up at the wall of shame for your wrong decisions. Again, relax, keep a low profile, and do your own job based on your own decisions.
Rule #5 - Your worst decision is better than someone else's best decision ever
Copy/paste decision is the worst one you can make in your own decision-making process. Probably, that's the most important reason, why we have very few truly independent Internet marketers. Yet, if something worked for me, it doesn't mean it will work for you too. For me personally, the most fascinating category in the negative sense, of course, is the one that includes marketers who have become the true experts in the analysis business of someone else's decision-making process. Do you really believe that you can reinvent the wheel with the blind follow-up of more or less repetitive patterns?
The final decision about the decision-making process
So, what can you do with a handful of these rules? Honestly, not much. Hopefully, you'll get tired of all time-consuming activities associated with reading and analysis of other people's decisions. At one point, you'll say to yourself, I just had enough. It's about time to make some decision on your own. A decision to make your own decisions is definitely going to be the most important and invaluable one you'll ever reach as an Internet marketer. So, don't keep yourself waiting any longer.
