Biggest change I made years ago that made massive impact on my life and business was to schedule time each day for improving myself. Getting over the belief that spending time on yourself is being "selfish" and instead realising that for every unit of time or $$ you put into yourself is multiplied by a factor of 10-20X as you impact those around you was life-changing.

Since then, I make sure to follow certain habits each day around self improvement including:

    1. Meditation
    2. Goal setting & review
    3. Setting my state (typically by reading/watching/listening to something inspiring)
    4. Setting time to learn something new - learning is what leads to growing, I firmly believe that you are either growing or shrinking - there is no middle ground
    5. Exercise and diet - follow specific practices here
    6. Getting enough sleep - I still break this one occasionally depending on situation, but far less than I used to. Everything works better when you get 7-8 hours of sleep versus getting under 6 (at least for the vast majority of people)

Visualisation has always worked for me..

Picture what you want, in amazing detail.. for example.. if you imagine your foot walking on the ground, what does that feel like.. imagine the texture of the floor... the temperature etc.

I spend a good hour or so, whenever I need to, to visualise events in microscopic detail. And then occasionally, create sigils.

I learned this one from John Milton Fogg - author of "The Greatest Networker in the World".

He calls it the 'theater of the mind'. Others call it 'visualization'.

Close your eyes. See yourself walking down a sidewalk, and coming to a movie theater (yes, you can still do that in some places - if it helps, change 'a sidewalk' to 'the mall'). You glance at the marquee to see what's playing. The name of the picture is [Your Name] - The True Story of An Amazing Life.

You buy a ticket, find a seat and get comfortable. The lights dim, the sound comes up and...

Fill it in from there, in surround sound, high definition, even Smell-o-Vision. See the movie of your life on the screen in your mind. See how everything turned out the way you dreamed it would.

Keep playing that movie in your mind until it's a part of you.

Another visualization exercise is written by hand, in ink. Describe, in as much detail as possible, an ideal day. When do you wake up? What will you do, where will you go, who will you encounter and interact with? What do your surroundings look like, sound like, feel like, smell like? The more detail, the more vivid you can make this tale the better.

Again, keep doing it until it's a part of you.

What you are really doing is programming your subconscious. Your subconscious mind is an incredible goal-seeking machine. In fact, if you're feeling blocked over something you aren't achieving, it's usually your subconscious trying to protect you from something it thinks (due to prior programming) will harm or disappoint you.

one of the best methods, you surround yourself with people that think outside
the box, you will as well.

you surround yourself with miserable people you have no chance to succeed

    - meditation: to put myself in the present, i use bjj and weight lifting.

    - affirmation: this is really important, my affirmation comes from any small success

    - books: on mindsets? I haven't read any, but I do recommend the most recent book I read, It's by Pat Flynn: Will It Fly

    - surrounding yourself with like minded people: very few people here in Japan understand what I do, however I do hang out with a few bar owners so they understand what it means to be an entrepreneur

    - trainings: I train by testing my IM ideas, be it in the baby shower niche or in the IM niche. always testing and recording my results

    all the best,

Being with other people help a lot but for me what works are small things, even if you don't think they will work in the end all these small things become something huge and that's where the change is made.

I am currently reading a book and listening to the videos that talk about visualization in stages, 6 months, a year, 3 years, 5 years etc....

It is from the mindvalley series on youtube and The Book Code of the Extraordinary Mind.

It deals with visualization, meditation and that You are Enough.

It says that most people are brought up believing that they are NOT enough and need more.

Therefore you have to believe you are ENOUGH and you will find ways to conquer all.

I'm still learning how to clear the negative emotions and be more than I currently am...may have a way to go but am optimistic it will help.

    Hi MartinaK

Just to change your mindset you need to rewire your brain because everything starts from here. There is one quote and this is "you become what you think" . This one single line change everything you thought. Further be surrounded with the people who are positive and read the books daily. Never ever allow any negativity. That's it.

Techniques, methods, systems, "rewiring" to CHANGE your mindset...

what are you changing it from, and to what?

I think knowing you need to change mindset may be only thing you need to understand, but that means you are aware of a "problem". The fix, the solution is found within the problem itself.

Meditation has helped keep me focused on the present moment.

Books - ever heard of the 10X Rule by Grant Cardone

Podcasts/Audio books - Something to listen to while doing things that don't really require too much of my time and energy

Exercise - You only get one body, so take care of it. Plus it puts thing into perspective a bit.

    What I mean is:-

If you look at a training program which most have deadlines of 12 weeks.

    84 days.

You know to get the best possible results in those 84 days that you are going to have to show up and deliver 100% every single day because every day counts.

That same idea applies to any other area of life, showing up every single day and deliver 100% and the way I approached pretty much everything began to change.

Nothing changes my mindset more than physically taking action even when Im unsure of the outcome. This makes me feel like Im moving forward and really sparks a fire in me.

Other things include watching something that I can imagine myself in someone shoes who is successful like netflix. I know it sounds silly but I watch suits and mad men and imagine I could be just as successful and charismatic as don draper and harvey specter. It really puts me in a great place mentally.

I have 0 friends or family who share my interests or support me so I cant speak to this but Ive been getting by fine without anyones support.

Visualization doesnt help me change my mindset. If I'm already feeling great the visualization is there but if not I just rely on the confidence I have that my day will come I just have to keep working at it.

Mine would have to be affirmation and books (for added knowledge). These things are very helpful to especially when I feel like tired and almost giving up.

It's not always a sunny day when you do affiliate marketing. So I have to constantly work hard and seek for new knowledge in order to promote my affiliate products effectively. Other than that, the mere sight of my children smiling at me and comforting me after work is an affirmation that I'm indeed doing a good job for them...

I'd like to add another thing as well. If you get a chance ready e squared by pam grout. It's a really short book about the law of attraction and practical experiments that you could use to prove it works.

1 snippet that really really hit hard and changed my mindset was she said (paraphrasing)

"Believe in whatever you want the same way you believe the lights will turn on when you flip the switch." (assuming you are blessed to have working electricity) I've gone a week without power once in my life in the middle of a hot Texas summer and I'll say that nothing humbles you more than that.

Believe in whatever you want the same way you know the toast will pop up when its done. You don't have to really think about these things it's just a certainty.

Look up Quantum Mechanics on youtube and it'll blow your mind. Then look up Quantum Mechanics and the Law of Attraction. It'll definitely help you change your mind set.

Just yesterday I wrote a blog post with the 7 steps to achieve anything in life.

Its mostly personal development based! Here's the basic breakdown:

    1. Pick exactly what you want
    2. Decide what you're going to sacrifice for it
    3. Choose a date for achieving it
    4. Create a plan for its attainment
    5. Write out a clear & exact statement surmising the first 4 steps
    6. Read that statement upon waking & before going to bed
    7. Take action daily to achieve your goal

Good luck! These 7 steps will change anything you want. Especially your mindset.

Meditation works for me. But sometimes I prefer guided meditation or listening to motivational talks from business/life coaches. Harv Eker is one of my favourites.
