The idea man VS the action man

Successful people are simply those who had ideas and went ahead to implement them and pursue them to the very end.
Ideas, in my opinion, are like babies:

They experience birth,
They require tendering to survive
They require nurturing to grow
They require discipline to be productive

Most people who jump from idea to idea generally limit their potential, and drastically reduce their ability to hit the ceiling in whatever they are pursuing. If you think about your effort as "credit", then you realize that focusing it on thing to fruition will be more rewarding than splitting it on a thousand and one things. Having lots of ideas is commonplace, but carefully selecting one to thoroughly hammer down is golden.

So while the idea-man is wallowing in a lot of ideas, being mesmerized at how many wonderful ideas they are coming up with, the Action-man relies on a few, gets serious with a lot fewer and gets the BIG BANG. It's not only what we think about, but most importantly what we do that makes us stand out.

    There is a common thinking that a person rarely has both talent. I always remember my friend who claims that he is only good at ideas but never on its implementation. I kept telling him that it is all in the mind that made you believe that way. So each one of has has a mind to create ideas and has the senses to make it happen.

      I once heard a tale of two dogs -- a white one and a black one. If you feed the black one more, it will outgrow the white one, likewise, if you feed the white one more it'll outgrow the black one. Think about this -- what if you feed both of them equally?
      I think the majority of people feed either their "idea-creation" talent or the their "action-taking talent", and hence one comes off to be more prominent than the other.

      BUT:

      What if you feed both your ability to create ideas and take action? In my opinion, the most successful entrepreneurs in the society do so all the time, hence their success.

    Funny thing is...I've made a living off of being an idea man. Yes, action takes more effort for me but I hold my own there. If you can build a team that shares your passion and vision, getting traction on those ideas isn't all that hard.

      Hey Ryan,

      Quite true, you can get paid for your ideas. But, I think you have to have presented those ideas in a way that pleased whoever had the interest to develop them or buy them in. And that presentation, or packaging of your ideas in a way that makes others want to pick them up is referred to as taking ACTION.

      I bet you know a lot more people who had prol the same ideas as you did, maybe even better but got nothing outta them just because they were never any better than you in selling them.

    They show different classes according to their ability to perform. The Idea man, you might say is "the thinker", who exercise the freedom of gathering all the possible ways to perform the task and then executes. While the Action man, uses his limited knowledge and gathers information along the way. Both shares the same idea, differently but i think they both works fine.

      Different people have different thoughts and mind to learn.
      The idea man lives like a idol and action man is practical person.
      Its better to be practical nor a idea man.
      Idea man always thinks to start and action man thinks to end.
