The Hidden Benefits of Delayed Gratification

It talks about delayin gratification, and what are the benefits correlated.

In another topic the author gives also advices to do it.

I think one of the main point which separates people who achieve results from who dont is that skill.
Which is not so popular in the modern age.

  • Delayed gratification or impulse control is crucial to being able to keep up with your goals. We all have days when we feel like quitting. As a matter of fact, immediate gratification most often comes at the expense of our long-term goals. Even to maintain motivating oneself appropriately with rewards, there's a certain amount of urge one has to resist, otherwise one is likely to give up, let alone spoil previous efforts. And yes, over the long term, I think it is one of the most important factors that determine individual success in life.

We're such an instant gratification culture now that we don't achieve anything!

Those who have the foresight to understand that building a successful business will take alot of work between 6 to 18 months to be successful.

Problem is most of us don't have the ability to delay that gratification. We want to blog today get paid tonight.

We want to create video content today & have 200 subscribers tomorrow.

We want to buy traffic today & get an ROI today.

Doesn't work that way... they're all skills its all work its about the compounding effect.

Getting that well oiled machine to pump money is like building a car from scratch. It'll take time but if you can learn the skills you can do it IN TIME.

Great post. Thanks for sharing Coach Sam

the economy was built and people where trained to demand instant gratification over the last 50 years ..

most peoeple are only mentally masturbating at the idea of being in business ..and do not have the mental or personal stamina to suffer the sling and arrows of those around them..that happen when someone goes of the normal path ..

the big cultural problem is over stressing safety and people expecting everyone else to keep them safe ..

Agreed with hard work for high rewards, only that "hard work" contains a LOT of thinking and proper planning, as well as excellent and persistent execution.

I remember what T. Harv Eker said: Most people want to be millionaires... but what they really mean is that they want a million dollars to fall from the sky and onto their lap. Few are willing to do the work to actually EARN it.

Best to remember that the greatest things in life require a lot of hard work.
