Are you paying attention to Freudian Slips?

What a repulsive title for a thread! I hear you and I totally understand you. Those were my exact thoughts when I was about to read The Psychopathology of Everyday Life by Sigmund Freud. I said to myself, I really don't need this. But, my friend was persistent and surprisingly convincing, so I decided to give it a try. Guess what? It was totally worth it. That's why I'm asking from you to quickly read the following two examples and see for yourself. These Freudian Slips can turn out to be a huge deal. Why?

Well, imagine the following situation, which by the way, really happened to me. So, there was a client who wanted to work me. However, I wasn't happy with the price and especially with the industry I was supposed to write for. I had to do a lot of research. I was more than sure that more than one revision was waiting for me, for sure. At the same time, you know how it goes. you are afraid that at one point you may regret turning down a client. So, it was that kind of a situation. I want to work, but actually I don't want to work. So, I promised to get back. However, I accidentally typed the wrong email. Guess what? This wasn't a mistake at all. My subconscious mind made make a mistake, which seemed like a mistake, but actually it was an intentional act to avoid working on a project I don't like.

Here's another even more illustrative example. It was one of my old clients giving me a surprise call on Skype. I was surprised. He apologized. He said it was an unintentional mistake. That's was a little bit awkward, but in a positive way. So, I asked is it possible that by a chance he has some additional work for me to do? Guess what? He said yes. He also admitted that he was thinking about me for the last couple of days. He wanted to give me a call, but he wasn't sure I would be available. So, he was going through his Skype contacts and again by an accident he called me.

So, what all of these coincidences have in common? Well, you should accept the fact that there may be some hidden reason pushing them under the surface. So, if you don't feel good about something then don't it. Now, I understand that this can be a tricky thing. I mean analyzing the Freudian Slips. Yet, if you pay enough attention then you may be able to read between the lines. I'm not saying that you will be able to predict the future, but you will be in a position to understand better what's going on around you. As I was saying, just give it a try, pay a little bit more attention than you would usually do, and you won't regret it. It seems to me that Freud knew what he was talking about, after all.

You have an unconscious intelligence working behind the scenes. You are always the cause of what's happening in your life, it's just that "you" isn't exactly you, because when you think about "you", you're only thinking about the CONSCIOUS parts and not the whole package which is far more unconscious than conscious.

Regarding your inability to say "no" to someone you clearly didn't want to work with, don't you dare say "well.. you know how it goes!" and just shrug it off like it's normal. This is clearly a sign you're lacking potential clients in your pipeline, you need to do 5x or 10x more promoting efforts whether it's videos, blogs, ads or whatever they are for you.

If you accept having a scarcity of resources in one area of life you'll accept scarcity in all areas of life. Step up your ******* standards man, I know you're better than that. Double the efforts you're doing to attract clients, don't settle for average. It's a recipe for disaster.
