The "Secret" In Think And Grow Rich

I must have read this book a dozen of times however it wasn't until recently that I realized/discovered the "secret" that Napoleon Hill "suggests" in his introduction. When I truly understood it (for me it came from understanding the Sharecrop Girl asking for her Fifty-Cent).

I'm not going to say anything more because I want you to realize/discover it on your own. And, when you do, it will be mind-blowing.

This is book is the type you must read a few time for the message to stick. It's a really simple book with lots of depth. One must read it and dissect it. When you do it will open up a world of other possibilities for the reader.

Now that I've seen this thread I think I will take some time next week to read through the book.

    Thanks.

Sorry Guys. You won't get the full benefit unless you find it for yourselves. There's a copy of Think And Grow Rich in the Public Domain. (Meaning you can read it for free online. Just Google it.)

The point of the story where the girl won't leave until
she gets the money is that you should basically never
give up and carry on persisting until you get what it is

While that's true, it doesn't illustrate the full "power" (if you like) that the young Girl was demonstrating.

OK I'll give you Guys a little tip.

As Napoleon says in his Introduction ("Think And Grow Rich") People who are already ready for it will understand the "secret." And that you have half of the answer already.

It's basically a profound realization of something amazing. And, as Napoleon says, when you understand it, turn down a glass.

wel the law of attraction stuff was originally in think and grow rich .. but had to be removed because it was to spiritual fot the time .. even most of the spiritual stuff was left out of the secret ..

the spiritual stuff has been left out of print in the western world since the new testament was crafted and only recently has been allowed in ..to mass awareness .

there is a secret to the law of attraction..which is why a lot of stuff isn't manifesting that you think you want ..you manifest more abundance where you feel abundant and more lack where you feel lacking to he who has more shale be given..to he who has not more shale be taken away

It has long been known Hill was a liar of huge proportions, and you may (or may not) benefit from some of the general ideas in TAGR, why not learn more about the man (and women) behind the book. Some of us remember WC Stone's involvement with Nixon and one of his plumbers

The Untold Story of Napoleon Hill, the Greatest Self-Help Scammer of All Time

Probably the best researched article on who Nap Hill really was.

PS. Down here in the Jimmy Buffet section (filled with PARROT heads) there is a tendency to believe everything you read. Read the article, think for yourself.

if hill was a fraud..why do so many successful people say the book helped them.. and the principles in the book pretty much are in every self help book ..

i have known for a long time hill was a very bad business person.. he organized the principles but never executed over a period of time.. Dan Keneedy went into that in a few of the audios i listened to ..

in this world no one is pure no one is all good or all bad .. the sad part of todays dominant social attitude is if you agree with someone 95 percent .. but that five percent involves a core issue .. people will treat the other person as a villan .. one statement that is out of fasion can wipe away text books filled with virtue ..

so maybe many of the stories in think and grow rich are fiction .. a lot of them never sounded right to me .. but do the priciples when followed work .

          Odahh,

It's not about the book, it's about Hill. Go back and look at Gordon's first sentence.

"It has long been known Hill was a liar of huge proportions, and you may (or may not) benefit from some of the general ideas in TAGR, why not learn more about the man (and women) behind the book."

This has nothing to do with being a "bad businessman".

Napoleon Hill was a REPEAT CRIMINAL OFFENDER. Throughout the course of his life, again and again, over and over, he kept coming up on the wrong side of the law. This is what the court records tell us. This is what the documents tell us.

The evidence speaks for itself. According to the evidence, Napoleon Hill was a LIAR, CONMAN, SWINDLER AND POSSIBLE MURDERER OR PARTICIPANT IN A MURDER AND IT'S COVER UP.

That's light years beyond "bad businessman". At some point, even you... have to face the facts, the evidence and the conclusions that it points to.

If the coincidences that happened in our life was written down, each one of us would have a big book.

There is no coincidence or luck of any kind. Just seeing yourself already achieving a goal that you set and believing that it would manifest. Having absolutely no doubt that it is there for you.

    Just my thoughts...

    well,

i do have a personal belief that 99 percent of those who are the loudest at proclaiming and defending certain virtues.. themselves do the opposite ..or even shadier

after all i remember from the book hill having a mastermind in his visions of historic figures that he actually claimed to talk to.. after all mary jane was still leagal ahem .. so it's most likely his discussions with carnage where derived the same way ..and created to make the book more believable and longer ..

i have had reserve for the the self help industry for a long time as much of it was designed for mlms, or for book writers to get speeches in big corporations, or funnels from 20 dollar book ,to seminar to coaching program.

and the best way to promote the the industry is tell people to buy as many book as often as you can ..

the reason the secret happened is because the big names where having a meeting to discuss the future of the industry because corporations had started to question the value of motivational speakers ...

You don't have to believe in woo-woo to think that the secret is a helpful psychological principle. Maybe something cosmic is happening, but probably not, and it doesn't need to be. Visualizing and thinking about a certain outcome creates cognitive dissonance, this creates an emotional attraction to bring that image into your life, and so you will find yourself more motivated to chase your goals, and with enough effort most goals are achievable for most people.

Visualizing and thinking about something doesn't "create" anything.

      Never has. Never will.

Only by taking action can something be created or achieved.

An idea for a statue or a painting is not the same as a statue or a painting. You can visualize til hell freezes over.

Nothing will be created until the action is taken and the work necessary to create something, has been done.

The motivation comes from the work, from the doing. No genius sits around waiting to be inspired or motivated. They take action and the motivation follows.

Wrong. In fact, you can't attain anything unless you have thought about it first. And visualizing your goal(s) will help you achieve them. Here's a scientifically proven example:

Does Visualization Really Work? Heres Evidence That It Does Expert Enough

And some of my favourite book excerpts:

Thoughts of Love will attract to us the Love of others; circumstances and surroundings in accord with the thought. A strong thought, or a thought long continued, will make us the centre of attraction for the corresponding thought-waves of others.

The man or woman who is filled with Love sees Love on all sides and attracts the Love of others. Do not allow yourselves to be affected by the adverse and negative thoughts of those around you. Rise to the upper chambers of your mental dwelling and key yourself up to a strong pitch away above the vibrations on the lower planes of thought ...
Then you will not only be immune to their negative vibrations but will be in touch with the great body of strong positive thought coming from those of your own plane of development.

        "Thought Vibration" [William Atkinson]
The World without is but a reflection of that World within. Your thought creates the conditions your mind imagines. Keep before your minds eye the image of all you want to be and you will see it reflected in the World without.

Think abundance, feel abundance, believe abundance, and you will find that as you think and feel and believe, abundance will manifest itself in your daily life. Your thoughts supply you with limitless energy, which will take whatever form your mind demands. The thoughts are the mould which crystallizes this energy into good or ill according to the form you impress upon it. You are free to choose which. But whichever you choose, the result is sure. Thoughts of wealth, of power, of success, can bring only results commensurate with your idea of them.

simulated experience is powerfull but dangerus as well, when the follow through and achievement of visions and focused thought .. fall far short of the vision. when reality does not match up.. the risk is someone either gives up or retreats into fantasy and only step in reality when absolutely needed ..

not speaking theory on that one .. good chunk of my life ..now as i work on reailty .. i have to anchor the visions in reasonable exectations and with some planning for problems

My opinion is that most people (most of the time) are actually capable of achieving much more than they realize. Even John Reese (with is $1 Million/day) had to be "persuaded" by his Friends to "Dream Big."
      : )

My current venture started out as a little "thought/inspiration" (just to raise some money) however as it evolved (80% thought 20% action) I'm now building what could be a $1 Million/Year Business.

though and visuals matter ..it's the planning tool. ..

because tech is advancing so rapidly and the price is comming down to well withing the average persons ability to posses the tools of modern production.. no one really understand what they are capable of at this point .. as long as they look at things from traditional view points ..

the number of 1 person manufacturing operation numbers about 350,000 around the USA .. that will be an area of explosion in opportunity over the next decade ..

backyard farming or spin agriculture .. is a thing and growing all over the western world .. and thing about what air bnb did giving people a chance to earn money from rooms in their houses.. or uber and lyft have done letting people use their car to make extra money or full time income ..

the more people hold onto the idea that the money they make comes strictly from working a job and getting a pay check ..the more those people will get smacked around by reality every few level.. the smacking will be hardest with those who have good jobs .. degrees and large amounts of deb t ..

you have to employ both positive an d negative visualization as you plan.. sometimes the biggest opportunity appear when thing go wrong ..

i live in a different world than most people right now..really don't tell anyone details of what i am planning the next 3-10 years .. heck

but i am starting of this year with a big head of steam ..with a lot more clearity of what i need to do in the next few months ..than any year before ..

True, l have tried just about every form of visualising, and you know what, none of it really works.

It motivates you, but that is about it. As well, as p*** you off, when a goal with a time limit doesn't happen, or takes forever.

Just persisting, and learning and investing, will do it. It is ok to occasionally look at one of your goals, but doing it twice daily only breeds discourse.

Most motivational books are motivational, because they want to sell their s***, not because they want you to get somewhere.

Simplified: "The LOA" means that what your focus on [Love, happiness, peace, etc.] you will see it in other People and experiences. As it's been said: The World without is a reflection of the World within.

Another example that I learned from Allen Says is that when you purchase a new car you see the same model on the streets. (When they have always been there.)

Essentially you create your own World from the thoughts that you think: So choose something amazing and something worthwhile.

Essentially you create your own World from the thoughts that you think: So choose something amazing and something worthwhile.

Not sure about the focusing on whatever will bring it about, but being an a***hole, certainly won't help.

When l see a BMW, parked somewhere l usually say "why is my car here" and walk past it visualising that it is my car.

Does very little, apart from showing that it is real, just very hard to get hold off.

Einsteins trick of spending all day being grateful, might help, it certainly helped him, but it does get a bit tiring.

You missed the point completely. The point Allen made (In "Money And Power") is that when you focus on something (a car) you see that in the world without.

The same holds true with feelings of hope, happiness, and abundance. When you hold those qualities in Mind, you will see them in other People and circumstances. That's how LOA works.

But, even a child knows that you have to step off the curb (take action) and put one foot in front of the other (keep going) in order to get to the other side.

The child figures it out, completes the task, and moves on.

The "visualizers" wait by the side of the road, assured that something magical will happen, if they just think hard enough and long enough about it.

Most never step off the curb.

So l visualise a BMW, and see more BMW's, but nothing shows up on my driveway. Well, that really helps me get one.

I would say the secret to Think and Grow Rich is to put it on Ebay!

Visualising works to a point, and then the planatery alignments get in the way, or if your time to shine is in 10 years, then, you can do anything short of robbing a bank, and it won't happen.

I can say this since my last time to shine was in 1987, and at the end of this week apparently.

    Let's hope so.

Ok, no doubt you are saying that someone who doesn't believe that he can become wealthy will miss opportunities or see only restriction, while someone else, who does, will.

That is true to a point, but other laws come into play and it is pretty hard to be all positive when it has dragged on for years.

It does help, but not much, sometimes it takes years of effort, and chainging tracks based on sales to get there.

Sure. However not only that, if they don't believe in themselves (and their goal(s)/ambitions) they are (IMO) significantly less likely than a person that has vision. (Another important component for success.) One of my favourite quotations from James Allen is:

"Those who cherish a beautiful vision, a lofty ideal in their heart, will one day realize it. Columbus cherished a vision of another World, and he discovered it. Copernicus fostered the vision of a multiplicity of Worlds and a wider Universe, and he revealed it."

Like I mentioned before, a person literally creates their World/Reality by virtue of the thoughts they habitually think.

That is true to a point, but other laws come into play and it is pretty hard to be all positive when it has dragged on for years.
I agree. Sometimes it is hard. Then again, so is making $1 Million. (Of course, it's certainly worth all the effort.)

I think it helps more than most People realize. Again, going back to vision, you have to hold something in mind (that you think about/visualize) in order to accomplish it.

True, but l would go easy on the lofty idea in their heart info, sometimes it comes down to having to make something work, because you are in a corner.

The only vision l have is to make a sh***tload as fast as possible. Although l get sidetracked, BMW's, pictures of luxery resorts, all of the gold that l can eat, etc.

Not sure about holding something in mind, l occasionally when l see something, drool about it being mine, throw every cent l earn through my online businesses back into the businesses, and work hard to make it work.

I can certainly see now how to make flyers more successful, but haven't given up on fonts as yet.

The only reason l have found that is through burning all bridges, and having to make something work soon, not through visualising trice a day.

Sure. And that can often be one of the "best" motivators.

Well, ultimately, I think the most fulfilling success comes from doing something you know that helps other People. And, that can be anything from helping People with their dating to helping them overcome a health issue.

There's nothing wrong with BMW's (etc.) providing they're not your most important motivation.

I don't mind the "burning all bridges" approach as long as it's helping you with your goal(s). I honestly believe (like in the 50c Think And Grow Rich example) that if you're willing to do whatever it takes. you will accomplish what's important to you.

You have to dispel the metaphysical myths about visualizing and just do it to get the better results like it's a given.Clear negative emotions which stop you from really entrusting to your visualisation practice.

Without a doubt mental imagery and affirmations produce positive changes in one's life (it has in mine). The deepest desires are prone to be manifested with creative visualization.

The most kindly-put work on the whole subject of manifesting incredible change in our lives is unearthed with visualization. Many low-key people use it with fantastic results. It means you can start from scratch and earn your way to the top.

The effects are truly unimaginable - life changing, just about miraculous.

to a point visualizing doesn't just cause things to show up.. or cause things to just be yours.. for the main reason 97 percent of what most people visualize is bad stuff they do not want happening .

So you can visualize a bmw ..see more bmws that ever .. but it will not cause a bmw to just show up in your driveway.. if you do not take the actions to afford then buy the bmw.. hell you can work with a used car dealer who buys cars from auctions..and when you have the money you can buy a great car for a big discount..it is what you put in your mind that is possible ..

Just because it is possible does not mean it will happen..

Without any doubt books can change your life, by changing your mind about the concept of "profitism". So a lot of of us were brought up with the idea of money as a finite resource, which you had to compete for.

The notion is to release every preconceived idea that is holding you and others all back from wealth.Becoming moneyed is a scientific discipline, that once understood, and duplicated will create wealth in everyone's life. Wealth is as infinite as the imaginative mind. Create ideas, take action and abundance will flow.
