So, let's say I do blogs, podcasts and videos and then I make a product that is legitimately its own product but contains largely the same information I had been producing for free. Is it just me, or does this feel a little "unethical"? Maybe I am just over thinking this. Would love your feedback.

There's nothing wrong with that idea.

A lot of businesses hand out free samples and still sell the same type of content/product.

I see nothing wrong with this as long as you aren't trying to trick or deceive people.

most infopreneurs do it the other wa make the product then release most of the information in blogs podcasts and videos....so you are good just work in to the marketing the idea that the buyer would have to read all your posts, listen to your podcasts and watch all your videos and fish out the best information that you feel you have put in the product ..

well the real info marketers can tell you if that is a good idea ..

I think that this is true.

If it doesn't feel right to you, don't do it.

it really depends on your long term goals and the effect of the what ..If he is trying to make a living or earn money doing this .. and holding nothing back puting 100 percent of what he know out there just splitting it between different media online ..

what feels worse to him either does he start holding back some info so he has some information left for a product .. or does he do what he thinks might be a little unethical..

what need to be done .. is the Op has to look at his her beliefs and ask why trying to make money doing what he is doing .. If he /she is doing it as charity fine

there is no long term if there is no profit ..

I don't think it's unethical. However personally I would provide a product that is "new"/unpublished information because I want to offer superb value to my Customers/People.

Once you package your product it in a more easy to digest way (like an ebook) it's become a totally perfect legit ethical direction. That too, people need to re-read in order to learn.
