Reading this after seeing the corrected title I was wondering if it was about making yourself immune to being a f***wit.

Nah, he might have a few good ideas, but nothing more than a self help book.

And it sounds more like he is trying to flog his book, by using the F*ck word, than to help anyone?

And that's why you're not as successful as you could be: You think that People/Marketers/Entrepreneurs/Etc. are just out to make money. When, in fact, the vast majority of them really do want to help and empower people.

      (Just saying.)

Phew, where is Frank when l need him!

Not as successful,.....thanks for that l needed a laugh.

I have watched the Secret, but there is a lot more to it than they say. And read literally a large box of this sort of stuff.

Well, l did make some money from what l learned l sold most of them.

And l did watch the video, till l realised that l heard it all before. If you want to follow him, then fair enough, maybe you will get someone from him?

But he is talking in general terms, (most self help books are like that) and using the F word do stand out.

Saying the word referrs to standing out, and ignoring everyone against you, fair enough, learning that you have to be fanatically stubborn, is one trait that is needed.

Yes. It's called "Marketing." (And a good example at that.)

Frank got trapped in a parallel universe that was created when the "Mind" crowd, from down here, made their way up to the top deck and posted in a thread.

I tried to warn him, but I wasn't in time. Rumor has it he came face to face with a WF "Bizzaroland" version of himself, Frank 2.0

Frank 2.0 is a big believer in bubble blowing mysticism, airy-fairy happy thoughts and wishes = reality.

It was too much for Big Frank to handle. He checked out briefly under the guise of a ban, to try and recover some sanity.

We're all hoping for the best for him, but he's taking it a day at a time.

It can be dangerous to hang around down here, Shane. The Kool-Aid is everywhere.

there is a difference frank was trolling and got away with it for a length of time eventually he was going to get a ban and he was intelligent enough to expect it ..

honestly i haven't touched a self help personal development book in over 3 years.. i would probably buy tim ferris' stuff .. but i have had much more personal development from watching how to cook this or that videos on youtube than almost any book .

my spiritual development has come from getting my ass kicked by the universe . though i will talk about the airy fairy stuff . there is practicle verse fluffy bullshit

and about that fluffy bullshit ..sorry jonathan i got about 4 minutes in until ..i have no problem with people who cuss i cuss quite a bit . but it's a bullshit word probably made up in the self help world . and there are already ways to explain the state.

nothing against him trying to sell books but not interested in a 45 minute marketing message

The #1 person that messes us up is......... (drumroll).... ourselves.

If your mindset is right, it wouldn't matter what's going on around you...

None of it would throw you off your game because you're on the right track... INTERNALLY.

  • This title sort of reminded me of Mark Manson's book
"The subtle art of not giving a f*ck"

Which is a great book btw. The logic for why this will lead to a better life and happiness in there is really tight.

One of my favorites. It's a great way to be more Stoic/Zen in a modern world and still be hungry to succeed.

True, general stories are entertaining, but pretty useless.

    Yes, lashings of it.

But l guess they have to go through that phase, we are just trying to cut through some of the crap and give them a better option.

The same could be said of People who think that all Marketers (etc.) are just out to make money. (I'm not saying that's you, sorry for the previous post, just that it's a stage that many people get stuck at ... And therefore don't progress as much as they could.)

You've heard of "The Law Of Attraction, right?" Whatever you think of the Principle, when you're focussed on learning, you will "attract/see/find/etc." Teachers that will help you do that.

People who walk the spiritual path through this mortal coil do not speak down to people. Spirituality requires connecting to others, no matter where they are on their journey through this world. Love, caring and empathy are a requirement, as is a strong sense of awareness of your environment. Many people post on WF to help others, but their efforts are not always interpreted as such.

i really wanted to respond to this but wait until you run into advanced spiritual people who have abandoned the egotistical need to look spiritual .

Yes, l am one of them, and have certainly made that apparent in the past here, and have the gold mop and bucket to prove it.

But have also been clobbered by the universe more than enough times to know that a video or entertaining book is not going to bring in the cash.

The only book that got close was Talk and Grow Rich, in which the author goes to great lenghs to show how your mind can produce results.

And yes, that does work, and l use it all the time for flyers and such, but you still need to sift through all of the options.

And yes, your mind can also get in the way and mess things up.

Golden rule is, ....if your higher self, or still, small voice, says, go through door A, it is probably the right choice.

But do l read motivational books or videos, no, not really, l used to til l realized that for the most part l was making them rich, and not myself!

genrally the problem with all of it is that to much is based on the mind . the more you get away from using the mind the more spiritual stuff works .

we have google gps and a whole bunch of other tech so if we need to know something we can find the information in seconds or minutes we no longer have to fill our heads with huge amounts of data we hope to have use for some time

do you know how your cell phone work. how ygoogle does your search ( some do here of course ) how your wifi works ..or how much of the tech we grow more dependent on.. your tv your computer ..

go back 30 years and explain that stuff to people and they would mental fry parts of their brains trying to grasp how such things would work .

but explain very simple spiritual concepts and you will get stuck in the mind lifetime after lifetime trying to figure out how they work rather just learning how to get them to work .

anyway time to go shopping for food i pland to spend 30-35 on food bu get about 45-60 dollars worth of stuff.. no coupons no looking at flyers
