Should we sleep late at night to work?

Some people told me that your mind can be very creative at night, and spending hours to work at night can help you finish more work than other people. Of course there will be sleeping deprivation, but I wonder if it worth it. What do you guys think?

I think sleeping early at night and waking up early morning is good. Because morning is the time when your brain remain more active and you can think with more creativity.

Yeah I think so, too. But some of my friends really cannot work in the morning. They really seem like zombie during the day and then work like a lunatic at night.

Although I may agree with you about the sefl-aware and working time preference stuff, somehow I think for all 100% people, working during the night and then sleep in the morning can really mess your health up and destroy your biological clock.

I once had to work at night. It was extremely difficult to focus at first but then I got used to with it. Although i am also fond of the peacefulness at night, my productivity at night cannot be the same as mine during the day.

I guess it is about the different work references of people.

Yep, l work til 3am, and wake up at about 11am, and there are less distractions at night, so...

I am currently getting up early, 8am, one day a week for a business course and l basically cannot think clearly til after lunch. But l do go to bed at 2am, so it isn't really the amount of sleep, it just clobbers me.

Maybe some can get up early, but it doesn't work for me.

Where an individual falls on the spectrum of preference for late nights or early mornings largely determines his or her chronotype. Scientists have identified a gene variant that exerts a strong influence over the circadian clock, and with the inclination to stay up late or rise early.

I think the key is to be self aware and find out what works for you as an individual!

    No sleep deprivation is necessary!!

For the person who wants to work in quite and composed surrounding in couple of hours, late night work could be preferable. If we consider about studying late night, sleepy members of our family would definitely not be able to disturb us.

you have to test for yourself when you get the best productivity ..forget your friend or what you read ..

foirst figure out how to measure your productivity then test when you are the most productive.. which tends to be when you have the least interruptions..so late at night or early in the morning ..

so if you do crappy work in the morning .. you might try to work later ..

I think getting more sleep is better.

I read somewhere that people who get less sleep actually get creative blocks. The more sleep you get, the more creative you can be. There are some articles on it, so I'd look into it.

It makes sense to me, after all, you can't be creative if your mind is thinking about sleep.

It depends on individual, some people they can perfom better at night some they only can work during the day. i think you should try the night time and see if it will be ideal for you,
But even when you try to do a night time, it wont work for the first time, so try it many times and then you can deside if is working for you.

do crappy work both in the morning and during the night

Yeah it is so disturbing when you have to do the housework (told by your mom) every 15 minutes during the working process... That is a good point for working late

I also read somewhere about people can be more creative at night, guess we cannot trust media these days...

But a lot of excellent people in Creative Industry that I know, work really well at night. Maybe it really is about preference.

I have tried and i really prefer the day light to night, but what I am wondering is that if I worked both in the morning and at night, while reduce the amount of sleeping, can I really finish more work than having enough amount of sleep.

If you sleep from 9pm the previous day then I believe you have found your good time to work.

Everyone's different! People who pulled "all nighters" in college tended to be "night owls" who focused better at night. It might work for you if you tend to be more focused and able to take action late at night. Look at your own patterns in life about taking action, thinking well and feeling awake.

Yes, and latest research also says that we need to stand up to work, or buy one of those silly desks that allows for that.

If l had to stand and sit all day to work, it would be a major disruption to my thought processes, and would just p***s me off eventually.

I prefer to exercise on some mornings, and go and stand up when l need to, not when some dumb scientist wanting to flog a book tells me to.

Standing up to work? That is weird. Wondering how they can do it when working with a computer

well a compter chair is nasty on your health over the long term and will cause compression damage to your spine and stress on your neck.. though from what i have seen of the standing desks they do not interest me ..

i work all day shifting from sitting to standing to walking ..you just have to learn to tell when your stressing certain muscles..but i drink a lot while i am working to deal with any physical pain ..haha ..

personal research depending on what works best for you ..what time to sleep what time to eat .. how to work..

much of the rea=search is still based on being productive in a traditional work environment ..it not really geared for the person who works from home and works their own hours ..so you can sleep three hours wake up work a few hours ..go back to sleep.. wake up do morning stuff and then work more hours ..

the real question is not how much sleep you need but how long you can work before you need a good chunk of rest .

most people are still mimicking a 40 hour work scedual .. or worse to prove they are not just lazy all day ..

Yep, do Palates, and a little weight work, a few times a week, and a bad back is almost a thing of the past.

I would rather work from home and create wealth, than the other option.

Everybody gets 24 hours in every day...no more and no less. Work out your most productive hours and try to make them your work hours.

I am at my best in the mornings and am usually online from 7am and in bed by 10pm. I know others who try to get out of bed by 10am but stay up and work until 2-3am. We all perform better at different times of day.

The greatest of creativity swirls in some souls at night.

However, there's an hour (I won't mention, don't ask) that makes short term wishes come true.

If you're worthy, you'll find it.

In this bewitching hour, spiritualism is intense and the quietness of the super conscious mind takes control.
