Overview of My Second Money-Making Month in IM: $3990+

Hey Warriors!

I am Talinn, you know me from my first thread:

http://www.warriorforum.com/main-int...0-dollars.html

In that thread I had summarized my first money-making month in IM and what made me earn 2830 dollars.

I have considerably upped my income this month - $3990, and today is not included!

Unfortunately, my last week was really bad for me and actually it was one of the worst weeks I had in the previous 2 months. But before that was awesome, so I still got $3990 this month!

My primary sources of traffic haven't really changed since the last month - article marketing. I have been pretty much consistently churning out 10 articles a day still. But the thing is, I have optimized each article's benefit.

Since I laid out my business plan plainly in last month's post, in this post I'll just tell the changes I have made that increased my income.

1. Increasing CTR's of Pre-Sell Pages (not articles)

While I was doing CTR-wise on my presell pages (about 70%) I still felt that there was room to improve. I have made the hoplinks more prominent, something I had been wary of because I wanted my visitors to actually read my page and be pre-sold first before they clicked away. But, this month I put a above-the-fold hoplink which gets clicked more often. The good thing is that the click counts for the below hoplinks didn't change, so this meant an overall improvement of CTR to about 80%.

2. Increasing CTR's of Articles Published

Since I have been writing a lot of articles, I have come up with a lot of different CTR numbers, and I focused on writing higher-CTR type articles which upped my CTR's about 10-15% overall. Actually, I list a lot of my high-CTR tactics in this thread

http://www.warriorforum.com/main-int...-articles.html

So if you are interested, you should read that.

3. Increasing Search Engine Traffic

While for the first month I had rarely checked how good my articles were doing in search engines; this month I have focused a bit more upon that. On several article directories, I looked at the most read articles and checked if they ranked high on any keywords. If they do, I check those articles' backlinks - if there aren't a lot of backlinks, I assume I can outrank the article by providing more optimal keyword densities for those keywords, and most of the time I managed to outrank them in Google.

A great method of searching for which keywords you can rank for is, choosing a niche, building a long list of keywords that are searched for in that niche (takes a minute in Google Adwords keyword tool) and then checking if any article sites rank highly on one or more of those keywords. I assume that if they haven't been heavily backlinked, I can outrank most of them.

4. Doing Away With Inefficient Products

Since my primary method is article marketing, I am able to conduct what I am going to tell you now. Not everything is conversion (hops per sale). In some of the niches (weight loss for example) it's super easy to generate a lot of hops since your articles get read ten times more. And yet in other niches (anxiety disorder for example) it's a hundred times harder to generate hops. So you should not only look at conversion, but also how easy it is to generate hops in that niche.

By that logic, I simply took how much money I had made in a niche, and divided it by how many articles I wrote. With this tactic I was able to pinpoint how much money each article I wrote was making for me. The results were counter-intuitive and I left promoting some products that I previously felt were doing good; and allocated more time to promoting products that brought me more money per article. This increased my efficiency a lot.

A Note,

I am thankful for your interest on my IM experience and I have been receiving a lot of PM's. I haven't replied to the last 4 or 5 of them since I think this thread will answer all those questions.

Also, unfortunately I am not a War Room member so my inbox is limited to 10 messages. I am sorry for any problems arising from that!

Finally;

The reason that I have found moderate, but encouraging success is that I have been consistent with one method of Internet Marketing. I feel that a lot of potential IM'ers fail to give enough time to one method, and switch to other methods. This way, they are costing themselves any success they might have!

I have been able to make money not because article marketing is the only way to go (in fact, I think A.M. is inefficient when it comes to hours you spend versus the money you earned). I have been able to make money because I persisted on this one method.

Whatever aspect of IM you are currently focusing on; might me SEO, might be PPC, might be tons of other crucial methods I may not even be aware of; you must persist and not give up on that method.

Do not forget that people are making huge amounts of money from SEO, from article marketing, from PPC, from CPA, etc... It just takes that you insist on one method and don't get discouraged when you first for the first months or so!

I wish all of you great success!

I think the huge point here is that you are taking the time to track and look at what is really going on as opposed to just tossing up 10 articles a day.

    Great job on the improvements!

I don't know why this was taken to this section while my first thread stayed in the general discussion section for months

Congrats Talinn, just keep doing what you're doing the right way.

Maybe in some weeks you can start to outsource and try to multiply the profit.

i was wondering how long before ezine started publishing your articles?
how long do you normally wait, and do you publish 10 a day?

That is awesome Talinn, your threads are a big source of motivation for me so I hope you keep posting your updates.

4 sales this month so far...I haven't been churning out 10 articles per day like you but looks like that's what I need to be doing!

Thanks for the update, I wish you continued success!
