Some info about myself:

-37yrs old / Male
-Healthy (a lil bit over weight but healthy lol)
-Strong believer in GOD and in treating people good even when they are not looking
-670 credit score
-No 401k or other Assets
-No Children
-No Girlfriend (at the moment)
-$9000 in savings
-$16,000 in total debt (once paid off will open up a additional $500 per month)
-$2350 is my monthly expenses
-Work 12hr Shifts 7am-7pm work 3days one week and 4days the next make $50k per year
-I live in my own apartment just 20mins from the greatest city in the world NYC
-Not very close with my family (which I'm not sure if this is a good thing or bad thing especially when it comes to my family)
-Have plenty of acquaintances but only one true friend (of which i come to realize if I'm not providing advice or helping this true friend out our friendship is not that great)
-My network is nonexistent, I don't find myself surrounded by like minded individuals. People interested in the same things I'm into like business/entrepreneurship

The main GOAL I want to accomplish:

The main domino I want to knock down is becoming self-employed, I want to start my own online business to replace my current income. I would like to make $100k per year in my new business which i believe it would open up time for me to fix/focus on other areas in my life.

Anyhow let me know what you think of where I'm currently at and how i can get to where i want to go in life.

You work 7 out of 14 days - you have plenty of time to start an online business while keeping your current income flowing.

Do your research on the types of online businesses that would suit you. Be honest about what skills/traits you have that will help you online - and what weaknesses might hold you back.

Choose one method you will start with online - and learn everything you can about it. ....and get to work. It's that easy - and that difficult.

do not narrowly focus on a strictly online business

100k a year could take 5 years or more to get to if you have no business skills at all..as Key said you have plenty of free time

Your life and finance do not look broken.. i will be rude and just say it i probablt just f$%^n boring ..go to work 3 4 days a week .. come home worn out sleep wake up go right back to work.. first day off of the weekend you get some extra rest catch up on chores wash cloths.. yada yada

your life and finances are not broken..so can't tell you how to fix what is not broken..

find something fun to do in your time off from work that also brings in a little bit of money..gets you interacting with other people and building a network .

    .
Figure out how to cut some of your monthly expenses apply that savings to lower your debt.
Take a look at your housing costs. Anyway to lower it some ? (Move a little further away from the Big Apple?)

Take up a hobby or get involved with a charity by volunteering. Or join a church and help out there. To expand your network.

Put some money away into a 401k. Or a self directing 401. (Talk to an accountant about 401k's not here) Look into saving up for at least one asset to buy.

Here is a very recent thread with 90 plus posts discuss making money in the offline world. http://www.warriorforum.com/offline-...door-door.html
Visit the local book stores like Barnes and Nobel grab a business book and read it a little bit there. To get business ideas. Also look for success magazine and read a copy. You will pick up some little things to help you.
These are just some suggestions. Good luck and write out a plan and follow it !

There a lot of things you can learn to do. For me, I used to think too much and not make anything happen. The only thing I focus on right now is doing.

You've got to push if you want to become self-employed. When I say hustle, I mean being willing to put in the work and do whatever it takes to make it online.

The first thing you need to learn is a method for making money online. I tell most people that the best way to get started online is to start by selling a service. Selling a service teaches you how to provide value to someone else and get paid. If you take a closer look at any online business, you'll see that this is what it's about.

Your job as a marketer is the solve the problems of the people who come to you. When you learn how to do this, there's no limit to the amount of money you can make online. The only problem is you've got to be willing to work. If you're not the type of person that likes to put in the work, then you'll have a hard time with making money online or in business in general.

Make up your mind to put in the work and go out there and execute. Stop thinking and just start doing. You'll learn more from doing than thinking.

Most advise in the real world would say get rid of the dept first, but personally l would get rid of it slowly, since an extra $500 a week is nice, but not exactly life changing.

I wouldn't worry too much about friends, etc, since most will disappear anyway, and most women would prefer that you are financially independent than broke, (can't go for a weekend away on nothing).

And family if they don't believe in what you are doing, then distance is good.

Nothing wrong with your religious stance, but don't use him as a crutch, otherwise you will go backward.

50k a year, not bad, l will make something similar next year, except l will be working for myself and putting in less hours.

Probably take me a few years thought to reach 100k+ a year.

As for where to start, l have been online for 9 years, and the greatest shortcut l learned is to go with hub sites.

Hub sites, Graphicriver, Creative market, Fiverr and others, have their own traffic.

And traffic is a b***h to get, at least in the make a profit and expand kind of way.

    Good luck.

i am not going to directly say anything bad about the OP ..but the magical thinking so many of us in this community get infected with ..needs to be addressed ..

take the Op.. how much time and effort did he put in gaining the skill sets to do the job he has now ..heck we have all been condition to work sense we where very little children ..

I had the magical thinking bug of oh i can make money online.. even though i have never earned a dime that did not come from a pay check .. reality didn't kick my ass untill a little over a year ago when i started in my offline hustle ..and have had to put a roof over my head and food in my belly without anyone signing paychecks ..

with developing my character and how i interact with people.. there are several ways i can transfer into an online thing..if i could scrape together some money ..and it will be to hot to work outside before 6 pm for the next three months so i could work it in the mornings but ..

the secret if you have a strictly online business ..as a content creator is that you have to deal with giving so so so much away ..so just start creating content that you enjoy creating and put it out their for free and then as you get an audience come up with ways to monetize that don't piss them off..

it easier now than ever ..if you can afford a good cell phone with a better camer than a 10,000 dollar video camera had 10 years ago and a decent computer ..neither of wich i have right now haha ..

the only real advice i can Give to the OP ..is start something and get learning

Thanks C/A, you've given us a little bit to work with, but not enough for specific advice (like what sort of work you do, Internet knowledge, skills, etc), but if general advice will do, here goes:

Why do you want to double your income? One year from today, if you reach your goal, how is your day different? Are you still putting in that 36 or 48 hour work week? Still living where you do?

What REASONS (motivations) do you have to reach this goal?

Now, you have two of the five lanes of life taken into account, spiritual and financial...but
    Relationships
    Mental, control of your thoughts
Physical (body and it's place on earth)

need to be included in your quest because when they come under your control, it makes your financial quest much easier.

OK, $$$$$ HOW? The numbers: 335 a day x6 days a week =2010 X 50 weeks=100,500 Now you see ONE way to think about your goal.

Another: Guru Launch @ 2,000, you get 1,000 need 100 sales of guru product.

    Another: 25 buck reports = 4020 reports, or 11 a day continuously.

Now, of course it doesn't happen like this, but those represent templates for you to consider, from high profit 1k affiliate of launch to small daily flow.

HOW do you currently SEE the income streams when you think about it? What are you doing to educate yourself about the different kinds of income?

TIME. There are no rules as to how fast you make money. Those that tell you it takes 5 years say that, because that is how long it took them. AVOID as much anecdotal advice as you can, learn from their mistakes, but there are no rules for how fast money comes to you. Normally it comes faster in proportion to the amount of focused activity you DO, to make it so.

DO something which gives you quick results.

And choose a way that is either scalable or exponential or duplicated, as in rinse and repeat.

So general advice, spend time on your reasons (motivations), your desires, overall life goals if you have them, and then look for templates or models of success which most suit you.

    Good luck,

    GordonJ

Hi CyberAlchemist. (Great name by the way.)

I just noticed that point from your OP and have a book recommendation: "The Purpose Driven Life" (By Rick Warren).

According to the cover it's "The best selling non fiction hardback book in history." I've read it several times now and I always learn something wonderful for purpose driven living : ) If that sounds interesting, go to Amazon.com and see what other People are saying.

You could be debt free in 9 months with the money/income you already have.

    ($16,000 - $9,000) / $775) = 9 months

If you do this my advice is create a safety net with your current savings. First pay down the principle on $16,000 at $750 each month, once you reach the 9th month then payoff the additional $9,000 debt. This way If anything goes wrong (life) during those first 9 months of paying down debt you'll have the $9,000 to fallback on (just in case). After the debt is payed off you'll have $750 each month.

IMO paying off debt is a safer bet than investing in any business idea.

The goal with a business is to put money in your pocket. Debt is bleeding out money which is counterproductive.
