Yes I remember such thing but dunno where noted it.
Anyways freelancer.com is full of indians and pakistans making it impossible. I remember doing some good funds back in 2011 until 2014 and then saw how this isn't profitable anymore. Did what you see in my profile as a job lol

Upwork & Freelancer.com are the Worlds TOP #2 freelancing companies.

If you're going to start your online profession by freelancing, why don't you create profiles on both of them ? It really doesn't much afford. For the first time, it will take time for you to get job. So, you will get enough time to bid for jobs on both of the sites.

Then you can evaluate yourself which one will work best. Cause, there are different job posting volume on those sites based on your skills.

    Regards!

Like Asector said, why not sign up for the two first? This way you can find clients on both sides. You've got to cast a wide net since you're still starting out, you know? Then you can focus more one the site you have the most success with.

Ah shame that plenty of the folks I've hired at Filipino job websites only stay there. Rarely do they make the effort to sign up on other sites. They could find more work there.

Both have got their own features, rules and pricing structures.

Its your personal experience that matters... if I love Upwork, doesn't ensure that you will also love Upwork.

I somehow used to prefer freelancer. It is a bit crowded these days. Not easy to win bids with the full wave of competition against you.

Freelancer.com is the best platform for freelancers.

Both of them are good and you can find good clients on both of them.

It all comes down to serving the right people. Knowing who you could help and going out and helping them. Become you focused and you'll win on any platform you choose.

Both are solid but nothing beats showcasing your work through a self-hosted, well-stocked, branded WP blog.

You can try both, see what works best for you. I've tried upwork, it's pretty decent.

Both have saturated market now and you have to be lucky to get noticed by clients there. Try some other freelancer site -preferably micro-job sites are best for newbie. You can try fiverr or yooker. Yooker is micro-job website for seo specifically and has gigs from $4 to $100. Its free to join so you have nothing to lose.
