The Time Management Thread

Ever sat in front of the computer, "working" all day, then at the end feel you have nothing to show for it?

I know I've been there. Only when I got a real plan going did that begin to change, but I'll admit I still get distracted by shiny things.

So, let's share. What is your most effective Time Management strategy?

For me, creating checklists as the first thing I do when I wake up does wonders for me. By the time you check everything off, you will feel like youve accomplished a lot...and in truth you have

time management is a very important trait to have in this business because as you said...there are a lot of shiny things out there to distract us!

For me,I always write down all my current tasks , there`s ordinary daily task and there`s the daily progress tasks.I write the day schedule beside my PC , and i try to accomplish task by task and mark what i`ve finished.Generally i put time limit for every task but to be honest not every time i can stick to the pre-determined time i put to my self.

Two time mangement tips that I found most helpful, both from Tim Ferris's "The 4 Hour Work Week":

    1. Eliminate distractions
    2. Batch similar tasks together

Using these two tips alone I became one of the most productive people at my 9-5 job, and got a pretty huge raise, although the raise had a lot to do with some applied social psychology as well ;-)

Simple steps i follow is to prepare to do list and every hour i try to take atleast few minutes break to refresh myself. After i do that task Besides each task i usually write start time and end time , it had helped me to keep track of amount of time i spend on each task and at the end of day i just go thru the list to get an idea and always try to think of better ways.

    Cheers

I have never enough time. Wish a day was longer than 24 hours.
