IMO: There is a FLAW in The Secret!

In my opinion, there is a flaw in the secret. I have "argued/discussed" this with my Mentor, and it goes like this:

You can get everything with the secret, but you may not USE those things.

The secret tells you to think about things and attract them into your life bla bla bla, you know it by now.

BUT===> what happens when you attract what you want, but then don't know what to do with it?

Or how about this question which my mentor posed: "What do you do when you have everything you want?"

In my opinion, that is the flaw in the secret, that you can attract anything you want- but you should damn know what you want to do with these things before you even attract them in the first place...

My mentor then stated the following:

"The secret is like a car. Let's say you want to go from City A to City B, and you are going to take the car. Now, the car can help you get there."

Well then, my damn car has a flat tyre/tire! because I get there and then I am lost at what to do!!

i dont know anything about "The Secret" to which you are referring. I may have missed that ebook

but I can tell you a little about my secret. . .

    .
    .
    .
    .
    .
    .
    .
.and that is of course, be single pointed, tenacious and accepting of all circumstances as they ultimately lead you to your goal.

oh and keep your eye on the goal. and it doesnt hurt to notice that the world generally reflects back what you put out. you will find it generally treats you the same way you treat it. ...ie... laugh at one person and another will laugh at you.

these are words of practical success. not sitting and trying to meditate your way to riches.

The essence of the law of attraction, which is the foundational concept of The Secret is that we focus on the things we want and hold them in our thoughts always. It would seem that if we are able to do so, it would be nearly impossible to "not know what to do with it" when it shows up.

    Hi,

That is not a flaw in or with the secret. There is no flaw at
    all in what you described.

My friend Tony Robbins get real passionate about this subject and really dislikes when others recite the whole "Secret" LOA stuff. But honestly it doesnt matter if you knw what to do with it before or after or whatever. It is all part of the journey. This is all part of the Game we call Life! Just drive the car and if the tire goes flat, then enjoy the process because you never know who you might meet while changing the tire. Everything is meant to be.

Usually everyone knows what to do with what they are asking for, otherwise they wouldn't be asking for it. Why ask for something your not sure what to do with?

Or how about this question which my mentor posed: "What do you do when you have everything you want?"

The great thing about people is that we NEVER stop wanting more. So in essence, it's virtually impossible to finally get everything you want.

For example, let's say you ask $100k and you get it. Do you think that $100k is going to last forever? No. You will eventually ask for more. Or maybe you want a new car, and you get it. Do you think that new car is going to last forever? I'm sure you'll want a newer one in 5-10 years or sooner.

Honestly, put down "The Secret" and all other LOA books and just go out there and make stuff happen!

Stop listening to the same garbage that has been reproduced for decades. The universe doesn't create anything for you. You have to get out there and do it.

I watched a man go bankrupt and possibly to jail watching "The Secret" everyday.

It's common sense that if you are a negative person you will have negative people in your life and negative results. If you are positive you will have positive. But sometimes the 2 are reversed.

It is no "secret" it is common sense. Just get out there and believe that you can accomplish what you set out to do. Tell negative people to stay away and make stuff happen.

You can get some real solid information about how business
success really works from this book:

"The 12 Factors of Business Success" by Hogan, Lakhani, and Marti

It's an intensely pragmatic approach to getting what you want,
financially. No LOA theories needed and in fact the whole LOA
premise is elegantly skewered in the book.

What you described doesn't really sound as much like a flaw in The Secret but more a flaw in your wants. Before you decide that you want something, you have to know why you want it. If you know why you want it then you will know what to do when you get it. If you don't know what to do with something you wanted then you didn't have a good reason for wanting it in the first place. A good reason for wanting something would mean that you have a plan for what to do once you get it.

If you want something badly, then you obviously have a reason for it.
