NEWBIE in need of help

Hello

Like what title says, I'm complete new to internet marketing. Like some people out there, I felt for few scams as well. I found this forum few weeks ago, searching the internet. I know it's possible to make money online. I guess I'm still looking for the right one. I read few offers from warrior special offers forum as well. I just don't know which one to pick. I'm not sure if I'm afraid to fail again. I would really appreciate few suggestions regarding where I can start.

thanks

Been there, still only about 8 months old but it does work. I do affiliate marketing. It works for me. Those businesses in a box as I call them were not my cup of tea. I found a few things that I knew something about, searched the internet for affiliate programs for them and here I am. Lots to learn. Still building my own site, but do earn a living with blogs and squidoo. (small living so far). I Eat a lot of tuna and crackers, but it grows every month. If you are passionate about it, your chances of success are better in my opinion. Good luck!

Whats a realistic amount to earn from affiliate marketing starting out for the first time?
      thanks

Everything everyone else has said is good. I know I have bought lot's of programs and wondered why? But, upon further reflection I realized that each thing I purchased was a lesson learned. Maybe each resource taught me something I didn't know. Every time you add to your knowledge base it is a good thing.

Too many people just want the get rich quick scheme without any or hardly any work. And when they find out that you are going to have to put in some work, learning, and building your list one person at a time you get discouraged. Don't give up!

Others have posted some really good advice on building a list. Follow there advice, realize it might take some time. But if you build it right it will pay off in the long run.

  • Hello there,

You have to have a plan. Before you are picking offers here and there and spending money, the first thing to do is to acquire some basic skills that will help you become a successful internet marketer. You must have heard that the money is in the list. I say money is in building relationship with the list, but before that can happen you've got to have a list. How to build the list is one of the skill set that you need to acquire, another is how to create a one page website known as squeeze page to capture the names and emails of your visitors once they visitor your site. Just a quick thought I hope this was helpful.

I would say more than anything, having a plan is most important. Send so many working on 100 things and never really doing one. Just a couple sites in your few interests should be a good starting point.

Depends on the direction you want to take. You say you do not want to fail again- did you fail with affiliate marketing, product creation, CPA?

What area of marketing interests you. For example, if you were looking to build an online business by creating your own information products then I can help you. See my sig or drop me a PM.

Best of luck though with whatever you decide to do!
    Steve.

  • Check out the book in my signature below (it's free.) It will get you started on the right foot and you will likely make more money in the next 30-90 days following it than you will with most "paid" plans. Look it over and you will instantly grasp why I say this--it's a plan that works.

Did I mention it is free?

Buy admission to the War Room. All the information you need to get started and more is there for free.

Start simple. Some plan is good but do not over-plan. Set a reachable goal. I would not start with money goals, better to begin with production goals and accomplishments. Money comes later.

Always trust your instinct dud and if that doesn't work, majority always win - listen to people.

always think positively don't think of failing again, no one will fail if they will just work their asses.
    got my point?
    this is not a scam.

I know what you're going through. I've bought my fair share of dud materials and wasted a good amount of time searching for THE answer as well. The first thing you've got to ask yourself is what you want out of internet marketing. Do you want to create a long term business for yourself? Do you want to create an alternative source of income? The purpose of your wanting to get into internet marketing will determine the approach.

This is my personal experience: I knew that I wanted to create a long term, scalable business. After considering the business models available, I decided to create my own products. It utilises the skill set that I already have i.e. communication/writing and specialised knowledge in my niche as well as providing an outlet for my passions: one of which is seeing people and especially young people fulfill their full potential in life.

One month on, I have created my first ebook and it has just been made available for sale. I have also created a blog that I update 4 times a week with quality content. It IS possible for a newbie to take action and sow the seeds for future success before knowing everything. I believe you have a passion and specialised knowledge in certain fields as well. When you couple these with your purpose for internet marketing, you will have a much clearer picture of what you need to do to succeed.

There are many business models out there and I must admit it's easy to get confused and lost. I was there once. But if there's one thing that all the Internet marketing veterans say unanimously, it's, "The money is in the list!" So you've got to start building your own list right from the start, regardless of what niche you want to be in. In other words, you've got to start your own e-Newsletter. The reasons for the newsletter are so that:

    1. You have a good reason to keep in constant contact with your subscribers.

    2. You keep offering something of value to your subscribers and at the same time, establish yourself as the expert in your niche. This is to build credibility and trust.

The two basic things you've got to plan and develop are, without surprise, your newsletter (I'd suggest plan and create the first 3-4 issues before you launch. Of course, I'm assuming it's a weekly newsletter), and your offer to entice people to subscribe to your newsletter, such as an eBook/mini report (the most common and most popular choice), videos (they can be tutorial videos, etc), mini-course, soft-ware, etc. After that, sign up for an autoresponder service and then set up your squeeze page.

How you make money? Well, you just need to promote other people's products to your subscribers for the start if you do not yet have your own products. This is called affiliate marketing. Of course, common sense will tell you that you need to promote products that are relevant to your niche. Don't promote soccer boots to golfers! This is a little bit extreme, but you get what I mean.

Like I said, there are many business models, so you do have a lot of choices. But to avoid getting lost and start building a real asset (your list is your most valuable asset other than your mind) right from the start, you may want to seriously consider this model.

Having said all that, first thing first, go figure out what niche you want to be in. This will be another totally different topic altogether.

    Hope this helps.

    All the best!

    Cheers~

    Mark

P.S. If you want to see a sample of this model at work, you can pop by my squeeze page by clicking on the link in my signature file below.

One advice: Just do it! I have wasted hours thinking if some particular thing would work or not. I never realized that the only way to know was to test it. Go out there and try it yourself. You don't need our permission to try something. You shouldn't ask us if you want to try something. Just do it.

geckospartan-I too am a newbie and I have been reading and posting like crazy so I could achieve my 30 posts and be able to post a WSO, Warrior Special Offer. I have googled so many acronyms because I felt too stupid to ask...such as WSO..I know duh! I will say that in 2 days I have met many very helpful, kind, considerate people. I am quite astonished at the environment and how welcoming it is.

Good for you for joining, writing and asking. You will find your way. The best advice I have seen posted so far is make a plan and do what interests you. Maybe you will have to spend some time reading and learning before you know exactly what that is and when it gets too complicated and overwhelming step back, take a breather and come back later. As with anything, I believe, its a process. You have taken the first step....keep stepping!

I once heard that if don't fail sometimes you're not making enough decisions. Everything is perspective and you need to fall down to learn and build resilience in getting back up and doing it better and becoming stronger the next time around. When you start to run your life always in fear of failing then you know you're less likely to ever succeed.

Its really hard to know what to do to get started. I have tried many things, but i am working on affiliate marketing at the moment.
When I got started, and I had failures and dead ends, I decided to get a coach. They really helped and got me on the right path. Sometimes its easiest to learn from experts!
