If you don't have the right mindset, you will not achieve success online.

Hi Warriors,

How many of you have invested in personal development books and learn more about how to change your mindset into a successful person mindset?

I thought about this for a long time and think that most people fail online because they fail to work on their inner self.

For example:
If someone with a poor man's mindset won the lottery of $1 million, he will squander it away in a short amount of time and return back to being poor again.

It is because he do not have the mindset of the rich who will know how to protect and increase the capital.

What do you think about this? Do you think it is important to spend time on "training" our mindset in order to achieve success online?

Cheers,
Vincent

    Exactly Vince!

Training your mindset will help you whateva you'll do in life. It's one of those things that should be high on your priority list.

This is what makes a successful business or not.

Lack of Money, the economy, no clients, clients that don't pay, ... might make a difference in how your business (online or offline) runs.

Though the way you deal with those setbacks is what makes the difference between failing or winning.

It all starts with your mindset.

Sadly enough 95% of those who start an IM, online or offline business will never see that, wondering why they fail even before the business turns 2. Looking for excuses outthere...

On my site I've a free ebook that contains a few excersises you can easily implement to help you improve your business mindset.

    Hope that helps.

    Have fun

    Bart

I couldn't agree more. If you don't have the right mindset about wealth, you are going to fail or at least be at a huge disadvantage if you get lucky and then have no idea what to do next.

I beleive that you are right. You need to have the right mind set or you will fail.

It comes back to, you achieve what you focus on.

If you focus on being successful then you will have a more postive attitude and work harder to achieve your goals.

If you focus on failing then you wont work hard and you will have a negative attitude.

Yes I think that goes for anything in life. But it is so much easier to give up on making money online because you never see the people and it is quite detached. No one may even notice if you "stop". That's the challenge.

I went onto eBay about a year ago and bought a package of soething like 30 audio books related to business and personal growth for like $75...the best investment of my life. A great way to learn about this stuff is through audio guys. Think about how much time you spend driving and listening to music. What if you replaced that with powerful audio books

    give er a whack

    Totally agreed.

Success comes to those who are ready for it and lucky are those who were prepared for the opportunity.
    Did I mention Prepared?

Unfortunately the preparation part is often overlooked and people blast out hours and hours of work without being Mentally prepared for what is about to come let alone what they get from it.

Without the right attitude and the right mindset you are destined to fail in achieving things you were the best person to succeed in.

    Good post mate.

Lately I've been thinking about this myself. I am reading a book that talks about the power of using "I am" statements to retrain your subconscious mind and get all the negative out of your life that holds you back.

I'll have to try the audio book rout as well, there is always time while you are driving places to listen.

Hey Mr. Aikens, if you don't mind...can you give us/me the *name/author* of this book, as I could certainly use the "I am" statements to help *re-train* my sub-conscious mind (just like you)...?

        THANKS!

I really like the question posed in the original post. I think it's something which gets overlooked too often.

A new mental framework is something that I've been trying to develop for the last few weeks. I honestly don't think that people who are wealthy have anything that others don't, besides the right mindset. There are wealthy people who have just as many personal problems as everyone else. The difference is, they don't let it effect the way they move forward in life and take action.

I wish there was a magic switch we could all turn on which would make us see ourselves as possessing those millionaire qualities. It just doesn't work that way though. So, I've been watching a ton of videos and reading anything I can get my hands on related to wealth building.

I highly recommend a book called "Psycho-cybernetics" by Maxwell Maltz. If I could only own one book in the world it would have to be this one. In the book he clearly defines mental exercises which you can use to change your self-image. Not only that but he explains to you how to activate the "Automatic success mechanism" while avoiding your "failure mechanism". The beauty of this book, is that it's not all about wealth building, or thinking yourself rich. No, it's a clearly mapped outline for operating your mind. Do you think that knowing how to operate your mind optimally would help you reach all of your goals? I think so.

Also, if you are interested, there is a great set of videos by T. Harv Ekar about the "Secrets of the millionaire mindset". He is really easy to listen to, and quite motivational. Here is a direct link: http://3.ly/9b5

      Well, best of luck.

I totally immersed my self in self development for years. As a result I went from an unemployed kid becoming a top level sales person (offline) and eventually worked my way into a position as an advertising executive.

This would all NEVER have been possible if it weren't for the consistent long term personal and professional development that I did. All actions, deeds and outcomes first start with a thought.

You can never create success in your life if you don't take action on your decisions and the decisions you make and the actions you take will be influenced by your mindset more then any other contributing factor.

Put simply if you constantly pour enough good stuff in, eventually good stuff has to start coming out. I think it was Robbins who first told me that one :-)

That exactly is the right mindset .

confidence = Exposing yourself to a possibility of things going wrong

Determination = You are not going to leave UNTIL you reach your target

Success as a MUST = success is non-negotiable .You are going to succeed and you are willing to lose sleep , do the work, read . listen , practice the right actions daily , talk to people you may not neccessary want to talk to get, start new routines you may not necessarily enjoy so that you achieve the success that you desire

Fun along the way = Very important so you enjoy the process along the way

      That is the right mindset

The mindset of increase and adding value . a mindset that protects you income from loss and increases your networth even though your are spending

      Cheers

Without a doubt - almost everyone should be spending more time than they currently are working on their mindset. It's a shame that it's so often overlooked in favour of the latest money-making method.

This was the point made by Napoleon Hill in his personal development book 'Think and Grow Rich'.

He said that success comes to those who become success conscious and failure comes to those who indifferently allow themselves to become failure conscious.

If anyone has any doubts on what is the right mindset, then I encourage you to read this book, because its whole purpose was to help readers switch from Failure Consciousness to Success Consciousness.

100% Nadia...get an interview with any millionaire and ask any advice. It almost always comes down to mindset. That tells you something!

It is so true, you can attend seminars, read books and even seek advice from people you trust. But if you do not change your mindset and put the good to action, then all you get may not be useful.

    Hey Vince,

I think spending your time to train your mindset "slowly but surely" will give you benefits to become a successful person someday. If you try to break your mindset, you will end up losing focus to the activities that you should have done every single day.

I have a story about this! Whether or not it ever happened, I don't know. It goes like this:

"A poor tailor bought one lottery ticket every month. He didn't think about it much, it was just routine for him.
One day, he won the big price! 100.000.000$!!! "Now I can be happy!"
He lived the 'good life' from that day, going to Vegas, travelling the world, driving fancy cars. Soon enough all of his money were gone. He went back to become a tailor, and even continued to buy one lottery ticket.
One year later, he won 100.000.000$ again!
He said: "You want me to go through all that again???!!!"
He had a poor man's mindset...

Just wanted to share the story

You cant make it to a desired destination in a vehicle without the correct amount of fuel, just as you will not be able to achieve succsess without the correct mindset and motivation. You may have a perfectly good business model but you will always need the fuel to power that vehicle and you will always be the fuel. Its up to you on how long you can and will sustain the ride.
