Lock the door, pull out the cable, get a beer, don't sleep. Got it! Or was that, lock the beer, pull out the door, get a cable? Hmm, what's the most important 20% here? Probably the beer.

Hmm, time management is such an important topic I must admit. One tip I can give you is to plan your day in advance. Don't start a day until you have finished it. That means that you plan your day the night before so the next day you simply check off things out of your to do list.

Plan how long you are going to spend on the warrior forum and time yourself. You can use free online countdown timers....When the alarm goes off, get off this warrior forum and do something more productive.

Try to develop this into a habit and pretty soon, you will begin to be a lot more productive than you are right now..

This sounds simple, but it is a tried and true method...

I am currently dealing with time management on my blog right now and it is in my signature if you are interested..

Set time limits on your work. Work of an afternoon not late at night. Give yourslf aout an hour to rest before you go to bed and watch TV or read a book. A nice hot shower, a late night snifter and relax and you should be asleep before you know it.

I read every night and normally get through one page before I fall asleep.

This was partly a joke because I'm home sick for a couple of days, and I do know some good time management principles. Thanks very much for the practical tips and also for the jokes along the way, I learned and laughed and that helped distract me from being under the weather.

Today's priority is to hope I feel good enough to go out to the store for ginger ale, herb tea, tapioca, etc.

Time management - make a plan and stick to it. Write down your long term goal and break it down into months then weeks and then days. Easy really.

Remember the old saying - all work and no play makes Jack a dull boy!

One good way (as I suffer the same problem...just one more minute-itis) is to set hours and stick to them. Include start, stop AND break times and also include a reward period at the end of the day. Even if it's just 15 minutes to kick back and read a page or game for a few minutes...take it and cherish it.

A new favorite of mine in the warm weather is to go and have a stroll around the block. No tunes or anything...just a nice, quiet thinking walk. It will clear your head and do wonders for you.

To me the key word is perspective....this forum is simply one tool of many to reach the ultimate goal of creating a successful online business. It's easy to confuse busyness with productivity. It's also easy to fall into the deceptive trap of confusing our knowledge of business with actually doing business. At the root we need to examine our reasons for sometimes sabotaging the real goal...building a profitable business. If other things distract us from this end there's probably an unconscious fear inside that's blocking our forward movement. I recommend pulling away from the forum long enough to silence the clatter of everyone else' experience so you can get in touch with what's really going on inside of you. I'm not trying to be arrogant or unkind here. You deserve to succeed!

You need to view this forum with a purpose. In fact I have several: learning, selling & entertainment.

I allot specific time for each purpose. I like it that I can just "goof off" on here sometimes and others I am generating revenue....

    Works for me!

Meditation is one of my keys to getting the most out of my day.

I simply sit with my eyes closed for 24 minutes about halfway through my day.

The energy I have to be effective and efficient is paramount, that 24 minute time investment actually saves me alot of time.

You can read my free time management ebooks, but they don't have arms to shut your computer off or mouths to tell you to do your work. Good luck

Follow this principle - Do 80% of your tasks and start by the big one...The last 20% will be so easy...

Also do only the things you like or love to do - Outsource the rest...Make a list of all your tasks, put a A for the very important things in fact the most important - and choose the only one you have or need to do - the most most important - and do it...because if you do only one thing during your day, but the most important for you - it'll be more stimulating...

    Some suggestions:

    1) Make a chronological plan of your day.
    2) Allocate start/finish times for your projects and lesiure activities.
    3) Be strict with your start and finish times, do not over run. Use an timer with an alarm, if necessary (even a basic egg timer will do).
    4) If you do not get the time allocation correct when you first start, you can adjust it as you go along, when you get more of an idea of your daily requirements.
    5) Have a cut off point in the evening to start winding down. Turn off your computer, so you do not get distracted (or attacted back to it). Go into another room, if you have one. It is important to get sufficient rest. The brain cannot function correctly, if you do not get enough sleep.

Thats all for the great suggestions, I do believe most of us realize the advantages of time management, however applying the skills can be something new to all of us. I personally discovered that lists work well for me personally. When I make lists at the start of every day I discovered I'm much more likely to get the stuff completed that are necessary. My routine every morning is to jot down the things that I'd like to in addition need to achieve that day. I then focus on the list in order of what exactly is most critical to complete. As soon as this is done I look at any kind of related duties which can be done along with each other.

Thats how i manage my day
