The Power of the mindset ...

I have noticed over a period of weeks by using various forums that so many people are too soft. They don't try hard enough or they give up too easily.

If you are really trying and hoping to make some money maybe you could also:

Change your attitude to "I Can Do it now!" not tomorow or in a week time.
Plan your time in advance and you will save so much time later.

If you failed once, so what? Keep trying and pushing. Try to analyse why the project or add failed. In most cases you should track your sales if you had some or rephrase the keywords or your add. Sometimes, just one or two words or the word order can make you a lot of money.

I think you are right, people give up too early. But even more than that I find that a lot of people just never even get started! They spend all of their time gathering information and trying to analyze the "right opportunity". I say BS! Just pick one thing, anything and get started. It might not be the right thing for you long term and yes you might fail, but you will learn!

I personally started a website that I found out after I started running it that I didn't much care for the structure of the offer - because it required a lot of work on my part, but it was converting like crazy and I made a boat load of money from it! I let the opportunity run its course and when it died on its own I relaunched it in a way that was less work. So the punchline is just get off your duff and do it. Don't worry about failure and stop analyzing you will learn a lot more by actually doing it and even failing than you will by just reading everyone else's reports and courses! That is a promise.

    • This post brings me to two of my fave reads: Dare To Fail by Billi P.S. Lim and Pure Power by James Lee Valentine. These books, no matter how different the authors have constructed it, only explore one theme: that anyone has the ability to shape all externatilities by the sheer power of his mind.

I agree with you. People are too much speculating and talking as opposed to taking some action. I read one very good book called how to stop smoking in one hour. It has got to do with the self-suggestion and self-consciousness power. Many people underestimate this part of human beings.

You have to believe and your dreams will come true. The more you imagine in your dreams your desired object or achievement, the easier it will happen. I mean if you can feel it, smell it and taste it or if you know it's true colour the miracle will happen.

Of course one should be realistic and reasonable nothing like E.T come and get me will not happen haha.

I totally disagree here, it is easy for the people who have made it in the IM to say, "don't give up" or "you don't try hard enough" but if you have worked your but of for months and all you have to show for it are some stupid low traffic sites that don't make any sales, then there is no magic LAO or self-help book or NLP crap that is going to help you out.

Sorry for being harsh here but i have been reading this section of the forum and my God some people really believe in magical stuff happening to you by just thinking hard enough about it. how sad is that.

There isn't a career for everyone in IM or whatever career you're looking for, not everybody is going to be rich no matter how hard you try and think and visualize about it, sometimes it is not going to happen and that is a fact of life.

If something doesn't work don't keep trying until you drive yourself, your family and your friends insane, because you have read some stupid new age self-help book that tels you if you keep pushing something has to give you a reward (sure something will give: your sanity) sometimes things just don't work out, that is "real" life.

Let's be frank: marketing isn't rocket science, but it DOES take work, particularly in this ecomony. The recession has made me a MUCH better marketer. That being said, I wouldn't like to be starting out this year - the learning curve is killer!

    To Ranko,

I agree with you many people here are saying magical stuff. There is no need to appologize you just said what you thought. When it comes to me it happened because I believed. Of course nobody sees those thousands of hours I spent reading and doing something. Also I did not have a holiday for quite a few years. If you ask why, the answer is because I was doing something for myself investing time and money in me and my future. Studying at UNI helped me a lot.

Nowadays majority of youngsters are disbelievers. Their typical philosophy is I want money Now! I tried everything it doesn't work. They spend on average 5 hours a day in front of a TV or pc, but when it comes to doing the hard work then they are full of excuses. They are happy to spend their whole weekend socializing or getting drunk.

Money making is about commitments and sacrifice or at least at the beginning.

In other words you are doing the hard work now because you wouldn't like to spend you whole life working for some firm or a rich guy who got his company from his momy or daddy and is a stupid and bullying boss. I wouldn't.

I know that everybody is different. Some people can read a book in few hours whilst others in a fer days.

If i be like "I must do it now" I will go mad.

I hope i have to be. But delay happens

Mindset is everything as far as my criteria.

I always try to say "I'll just do one more thing" I'll do it then "just one more thing" eventually it'll be 5 in the morning and I'll be like "why did I do that."

I think it's important to manage your time and only work for a certain period (if you're like me anyway) because if you stay up till 5 doing work, the next day is a write off!!

What you mentioned here is the stumbling block where we have to find the focus to change. That I'll just do this little thing on the way to doing what we are supposed to do and then the next and so on. the trick is conditioning ourselves to catch ourselves in the act and push past it. Block off that our or two to work on your business and stick to the schedule and stop to dust your CDs on the way back from the restroom, and etc..

I had this thought just this morning; often we settle, procrastinate and drag our heels because our desire lags behind somewhere in the background. If we want to make that push and get our motivation fueled enough to get our of the nine-five rut we have to change our mindset, habits and belief. Belief that it can be done now as you said. One must get out of their comfort zone and stay out of it to move ahead.

You are so right. The right attitude will get you to were you wanna be. I also have this problem of focus and give up easy. It's mainly because I got myself into debt and need the money now and looking for a quick fix solution.

    Thanks for the post.

    To Keerthana,

I agree not everybody has a strong will. You are not expected to do everything now or all at once. The plan can always help. Make some resolution e.g. today I am going to do... and then plan just something small, one small step at a time. Then make a break. To have some objectives is better than not to have any.

Some people often take frequent breaks. I usually have a few objectives for every day. Sometimes I complete more objectives at once and sometimes just one by one.
If the task is more complicated I will reward myself with a longer break or by watching movie (you can reward yourself by listening the music etc).

Business mindset is like building a house. You start from the base and slowly you are moving up by adding bricks and other elements. Later on if you start building the second house you will already know how to speed up some of those processes.

I think that never giving up is the key to becoming successful. There have been many times when I wanted to give up, but the passion for Internet Marketing keeps me going. There's not a day that goes by that I don't think about getting on my computer and thinking of ways to better my site. If you're struggling, don't give up! If you do, you'll never know where you might have ended up.

They just don't care THAT much. How many guys did nothing to get a girl in school? At a minimum they would go to the bar every week, many guys would try to talk to women whenever they could, etc. We may have been miserable at times but we never, never gave up because nature drove us forward. And we all got married eventually. Same thing with making money, if you care enough about it eventually you will succeed. Maybe not make millions, but make $50,000 a year at least =)

dtrainer, I agree. I think it has a lot to do with the way you were raised and how your parents taught you to be, as well as influence from teachers and peers that taught you to feel like you have a certain level of capability. Those who were given lots of encouragement, as long as they get certain validation from the outside world, are more likely to be successful.

    To SherryLee,

I partially disagree. My parents past away when I was much younger. After some time I developed a habbit that if I fail once I will try again but slightly differently.

If I went to a public firm and they refused my application I would go and speak to their colleagues. If that failed I would speak to a Manager. Sometimes I had to speak to the owner of the firm to get things done.

My father used to tell me "use your head" it's not on your shoulders to keep your body balanced but to think. I always used to laugh to this but later on I was glad to be told the direct truth.

One of the most important things that helped me almost always when I was trying to get things done was:

Keep smiling even if they are telling you negative things. If somebody underestimates you just return him this with a smile on a face. If somebody insults you reply in a nice manner and they will be more upset than as if you told go to h...

The second the most important thing that is slowly dieing out in the west is called puliteness.

Things like a nice greeting or a small nodding as a sign of approval can help many people. Many doors will be open thanks to this and vice versa.
