How do you deal with criticism?

When you produce value such as informative content to other people, but they say that you're content is not the whole truth, wrong, or even misleading, giving you a bad review or bad ratings, how do you deal with this type of criticism? Does it discourage you?

Mostly, I try to look at it constructively.

Because, although it doesn't feel particularly good to be criticized, sometimes people have a genuine point and that's something I can improve. As I learned in the PUA world:

    "There's no failure, only feedback."

And, remember, it's been said that small minds try and keep people at their level. Hey, if people want to say something stupid about me, then let them. The most important thing for me is to stay on my path.

I have learned to do my best, and if the end result is good then I do not care for any criticism, but if the end result is not good, then even the praise of ten angels would not make the difference."

If they are offering constructive criticism I would try to fix the problems they are talking about. You'll always have people that are just bashing to bash though, and those kind of people you just need to ignore.

I learned this from Wayne Dyer...

Every time someone says something critical of me, this is how I respond to them:
"I`m sitting in the smallest room of my house with your letter of criticism before me (yeah, you know what room that is ) ...and soon it will be behind me"

    It`s pretty awesome advice...

How you deal with criticism speaks of your character.. Sometimes I just let criticisms pass by and rectify the mistakes that people say I've done..

But there are some criticisms that are uncalled for. When these things are thrown at me, I just don't mind them..

The best criticism is constructive criticism. It should be the type that points out the errors
and mistakes in your efforts and offers possible solutions that can enhance your work.
More importantly, it should be from those who are qualified to offer it in order to validate their input.

Others may criticize our work, but if they don't offer a specific reason why they feel our work is not up to standards while being condescending and offensive and don't provide helpful suggestions, then it's best to ignore such critics.

We could always use others' perspective and point of view of our work as long as it leads to
    the results we're after.

I totally agree about constructive criticism. When I was younger any type of criticism would instantly shut me down. Thinking to long about what the person said, what I did, what could I have done and so on...

Now I learn from it. Some like you said is constructive other can be uncalled for and hurtful. I am sure I hurt myself more going over things so much that the person that said the criticism hasn't given a second thought about what they said. Just move on from it and don't keep it on your mind.

Yes. I think we've all been criticized harshly at various times in our lives to the point where many of us become defensive and withdraw at the slightest hint that someone simply may not like us for whatever reason.

Unfortunately, there are those who criticize people without realizing how the other person will accept it. So most learn from experience how to handle it in the future.

I will accept criticism gracefully and tried to fix it in the future.

Any criticism can be hurtful, even if it is constructive. I always take a deep breath and give myself time to consider whether the criticism is constructive or personal. If it is personal, I am learning to ignore it. What matters is whether I think I have I done my best or not. See the post under "What other people think of me is none of my business!"

However, professional and constructive criticism, although it might be hard to take, is like taking medicine. Once you swallow your medicine, it might leave a bad taste in your mouth, but your body starts to feel better. Once you swallow your pride and look at your work objectively through the eyes of your reader, you can see what the person means. Then you get better as a writer, marketer, and even as an individual person.

Remember that no-one is perfect, so we all need a guiding hand and helpful advice somewhere along the way! Writing is a craft that takes a lifetime to perfect.

Criticism does hurt sometimes but it always is a good point to develop compassion and patience towards yourself and others. If others don`t see value in your actions and express their feelings, they do what they need to do. What you do with critics brings you either where you want to be or it brings you where you don`t want to be. It can push you up or make you crumble like a cookie!
