This month's Success Magazin Issue

My Success magazine this month came with a free CD that features several famous speakers. I love listening to stuff like that so I popped it in on my way to my office this morning.

I was really taken back when the first 2 speakers (haven't listened to the rest yet) touched on things that I was already thinking about a lot recently..

First section:

Chasing after success methods that you think will produce quick or easy income won't work. If you're heart is not it, if you don't enjoy it, if its not your calling, if you're forcing yourself to do these tasks to get money.. it just flat out wont work even if it works for other people. Until your start doing something that you enjoy and live for you'll just spin your wheels and see no results.

Second section:

Don't chase success. If your heart and priorities are in the right place, success will find you!

After looking back at my history, it amazes me how true this is. I first started out in my quest to success when I was 18.

I thought my path to success was politics. LOL! We wont even go there.. I did a great job at it and was well known but I couldn't stand the people I was working with *gag*.

So, when I was 19 I became a Realtor and thought Id make a fortune. And although I did extremely well, there was still a cap on how much I could make without working myself into the grave. And the truth of the fact was that I HATED it. It was too much to deal with know-it-all buyers, dishonest lenders, and greedy agents on a 24/7 basis.

During my time as an agent (5 years), I worked on creating an online empire. Even then, I was just chasing every method I thought would make a buck. Nothing worked and I was quickly losing my mind working so many hours. After 4 years of this crap I started to make myself focus on ONE thing at a time. That helped and things got better but I wasn't "rich" by any means. It wasn't until I discovered to utilize what I was good at and do what I enjoyed, when things took a 360 turn. All of the sudden everything worked, daily good things gravitated my way by means of new ideas, successful out turns, new partnerships.. It was like people were eager to hand me money.

I spend the next few months dazed but happy. I was half expecting everything to disappear. But it didn't and I began to realize that this was my future, what I was going to happily do for the rest of my life and it wasn't going to "go away". Sure it might change some but the essence of it will always stay the same.

That's wonderful, Dana! I'm really happy to see you have such unbridled success. I've started a new project recently, dealing with creativity, and feel really good about the message I'm trying to write about. I hope I have found my calling, and it feels like I have. I suppose I'll have to wait for results and see if my feelings stay rooted to this cause to see if I've really hit it. Good luck to you
