Organizing And Writing Stuff Down

Im curious about how you guys organize what your gonna do for the day. I started to try and write out what I want done for the day and try to check it off as I complete them, but then i start writing other stuff down on the paper that I run across and my whole little chiecklist process gets messed up and it turns into a bunch of stuff written down and its not really organized. I think if i had a way to organize my daily tasks better I would be more productive, so how do you guys do it?

    Hello:

I use written lists to help create focus and it works for me. On days I get lazy and don't make the list, or don't follow the list, my productivity falls. On days I stay true to the list, my productivity rises.

I can relate to your problem of writing notes on the list and losing track. All you can do is set your mind to respect the list and keep it clean and focused.

I use good old fashioned pen and paper, as well. To stop me from doing what you are talking about, I now use a clipboard. Top page has what I need to do that day and the next page(s) are where I write other things I come across or things that I have to do coming up.

Before I sleep, I get a sheet of A4 paper, a black marker.

I write the top 5-10 task I want to do, in order of importance and I place it on my clear work desk.

So the next day I come to my desk I can't miss what I've got to do. And I get it done! =P

I use my MS Outlook for my schedule and a mind mapping program Mindjet to plot my operations and projects. If you really want to get focused, sign up for a free online Simpleology course by Mark Joyner. I still use it after two years. I'm ADHD so I need anything that will keep me on track.

I put some of my tasks that have a time frame in my google calender but what I recently found that I adore is the sticky notes in Windows 7. I keep 2 of them on my desktop all the time, one for business, one for personal. I check them every morning when I fire up the computer and add to them or delete completed tasks throughout the day.
