New To Affiliate Marketing

I'm new to affiliate marketing, and I was wondering what would be the first step to starting my own affiliate network, I understand I need to know how a publisher works with an ad program, but what I would like to know, what would be the first thing to do to start an my own affiliate program...Do I create any type of website, and show to the affiliate networks that I can draw traffic to that site?

    Do keyword research (if you don't know what it is, search on forum). Choose a niche that is related to you hobby.

    Affiliate marketing is very versatile, you don't even NEED a full website per say. You just need to get people to click on your affiliate link and buy a product (then you get commission). Having a website or blog helps because they generate traffic. Since you are just starting I recommend using Clickbank (you can find out more on their site).
    You don't have to show affiliate networks a site or anything like that, just get the affiliate link of a product you like from Clickbank and get people to buy it.

      I appreciate that answer, everyone has been giving me a run around and telling me a whole bunch of stuff I didn't ask for. What you said simplified a bunch of questions I was leaving on forum post, thank you.

    If you need Affiliate Management Software a good one is nanacast.com or ejunkie.com
    Create a video with jing,put it in a blog, put it on Youtube, and put it in a Squidoo Lens
    use about 10 tags
