"A Gift For All Of Us"

Here's a short story just written by my Father : "A Gift For All Of Us"

One day an elderly woman was sitting beside a stream eating small bites of stale bread. Along came an old beggar and sat down beside her. He was haggard and thin. It was obvious that he was very hungry. He asked the old woman for a small portion of the bread and she willingly shared it with him. As he was about to leave, he noticed that laying beside the old woman was a precious, valuable, stone she had plucked from the stream. The beggar asked her for the stone and she obliged his wish and he walked away.

The next day the old woman went to her favorite place by the stream once again. All of a sudden along came the beggar. He sat down beside her as he had done the day before. He gently took her hand and placed the precious stone in her palm with the following words. "I give you back the precious stone because I would rather received from you what is inside your heart that allowed you to share your bread and give me the stone rather than keep it and benefit from the wealth."

"And who among you will follow me & gain from my wisdom?" -- thus spoke the Wise One.
