So...What's The Biggest Thing That's Stopping You? Mine Is...

...too many new things to do that distract me from doing the stuff that I know works!

Whether it's Internet marketing, mlm, biz opps, or even writing a book, I've realized that...

"Success isn't difficult. Just complex"

Let's face it...we ALL know what we're supposed to do, yet very few of us actually get around to doing (usually because we get distracted by new and more exciting things!) - so I thought that it would be useful to get some feedback from you about what's stopping YOU from achieving success - online or otherwise.

Now...you CANNOT use the excuse of lack of money, because running an internet business or mlm business are THE cheapest businesses you can get off the ground!

So...if it isn't money holding you back - WHAT IS?

To Our Success!

How can money holds you back?
It is the money that motivates you to take more action and go out there
do your online or mlm venture.

A lot of people give the excuse that they don't have money, and that is why
they are not rich and successful.

The fact is, rich and successful people use this very same factor as a positive
drive that keeps them going. Money is their motivator.

Here, here. Spot on. Focus and determination are the direction finders while we can all too easily get distracted, even by thinking that we need a rest or distraction to get over the work of the day.

Thanks! I recently have started wondering a great deal about WHY we as humans become so easily distracted, etc. I am going to start a Thread here soon to find other Warrior's opinions on why this may be, what we can try to do to improve our overall efficiency, etc. and hopefully get some insightful input.

      Ditto.

I swear I have adult ADD, especially after using the internet for so many years and just being able to jump from topic to topic, I can't focus on anything and get distracted super easily.

I've always been a huge procrastinator -- I was always the kid in the room 5 minutes before class trying to finish the homework. As much as I hate cleaning these days, I often find myself cleaning the house rather than addressing things like trying to make money so I can hire a maid to clean for me!

Motivation is tough because my day job pays "ok". I'm not starving and I really do hate the job, so at the end of the day, it's hard to shake the attitude of "hey, I've earned some relaxation by wasting my entire day doing something I hate." I know that this, in itself, should be motivating, but combined with the two points above, it results in nothing getting done but watching lots of TV...

Once I get going on something, I do OK, but I'm pretty great at avoiding things that aren't immediate accessible. For example, the current speedbump (for several months) has been that I want to make a product to try selling, but I don't have any creative ideas, so I get stalled-out reading things like this forum (see the "distraction" )

Anyway, through the past year or so when I've been trying to do something serious on the side, I've learned I'm a horrible boss of myself. I am working on changing that, but it's tough, especially when I'm tired after work each day, it's hard to bust my own ass to do stuff.

      The same here. :-(

How can we get ourselves away from these 3 killers?
I mean... for good. Get ourselves out of these bad habits...

What is stoping me and everybody is my self and your self, nothing else.

Its all depend on our self whether we want to make it happen or not. We shouldn't blame anyother thing.

Always in our self, there will be a second voice that stopping us and discourage us from doing things that we want to do. That will make us have a FEAR feeling of doing new thing.

We don't want to come out from our "comfort zone" because of our FEAR.

The greatest FEAR is FEAR of failure but sometimes people don't know that every failure is a step towards SUCCESS.

      This is so true.

Unfortunately then the question becomes what can you do to stop holding yourself back from success.

One very important thing is to know what you want. What is success? Can't get there if you don't know what it is.

Overwhelm... so many possible directions.... however, my mind is telling me as I type this to just dive in somewhere and to stop worrying about "where" I begin, that I will be guided as I go... assuring me that I have what it takes to at least get started and that I had it all along. Typing this was a confirmation to myself.
Ok, then let this be Day 1.

Naturally distractions but also tied in with that distraction are the factors of believing a system will work for you over "so and so's system". What I mean is you can easily fool yourself into thinking "well what if this method doesn't work for me but this new one will. And what if I pass up this next opportunity to try and stick to the first one; which could ultimately fail me"?!

I know for me I am afraid to fail.

I love this! I think that you can say you fear success or failure, your overwhelmed, confused on which direction to take, etc. etc. (I've said them all), but what it really comes down to is having COURAGE. Dictionary.com says courage is the quality of mind or spirit that enables a person to face difficulty, danger, pain, etc., without fear; bravery.

Be brave, be bold, be courageous enough to stick to one method and see it through to success!

It's all about action! Take action, don't over think, just do!

The biggest thing that stop me is
    lack of focus and time.

For everything we do, we need 100%
    focus with less distraction.

Time is also vital, if we just spend
a little time for some stuff then
stop for long time, once we go
back to the 'place' we stopped,
    its gonna consume some time
to recall what we were doing..

the biggest thing holding most marketers back is that they just can't focus on one project, and making it work. they grab an ebook, put in a days work, it doesn't make them money by the day after that, and then they move onto the next. find a method that you believe will work for you, and work with it, if at first you don't succeed, twist them method. attack it from all angles. and don't give up after 2 days of hitting it. people who bounce around, forum surfing all day, and hopping from one ebook or course to the next, don't go anywhere.

What used to stop me was Self-Doubt. I'd always wanted to start a personal development blog but I was always telling myself that perhaps I'm not good enough to give advice to other people.

Fortunately, I stumbled upon a great advice by Les Brown, "You don't have to be great to get started, but you have to get started to be great." This piece of great wisdom - along with another one - literally changed my life.

I'm glad I'd followed the advice and went ahead with my blog. I may still not be providing tremendous value, but I do strongly believe that I'm providing at least some value, and that is good enough for a start. And I believe I will just get better as I go along.

This has made me realised that, it doesn't matter how much you know, what's important is simply to "Just Do It"! Let your audience tell you whether you're providing any value. If you're not, take that as constructive feedback and improve on yourself until someone finally appreciates what you do.

    Cheers~

    Mark

I think a lot of times, people have a fear of success.

I use to get in the mode of "work work work" then when a project would near completion and it was time to execute, my palms would get sweaty.

I think its pretty natural for most people to have the know how, but still get bogged down.

For me, it's putting off (or blowing off) doing stuff I don't like -- but probably really should be doing.

I'm a total right brainer, so things like A/B split testing, web site analytics and keyword optimization are like going to the dentist for me. I can create videos, write articles, send tweets and the like all day long, 'cause I find it fun. But the stuff that requires info-crunching....ugh.

Happily, the solution has been staring me in the face all along -- outsource the stuff I hate doing. Now I just got to get off my butt and look into outsourcing...

I have to admit, I get overwhelmed. Sometimes it's easier for me just to say **** it and go watch House once my head's overloaded. (As much as that's my favorite show, I'm not at the point where I can be making money and watching House at the same time quite yet >) It's been a steep learning curve, learning how to run an online business, but it really can be done on a shoestring budget (which I barely even have at the moment).

I tell myself to do a little something each day to get closer to where I want to be. I have the know-how, but not the connections. I'd really like to get more familiar with the Warrior Forum before I make any offers. After hours of ebooks, safelists, biz opps, and just general CRAP, the only thing I can really do right now is... play on this forum
