I've never heard of that one before. Could you post a summary of a few key points?

      Here is a quick overview:

Essentially, The Answer starts where The Secret left off. The Secret was great in the sense that it brought the Law of Attraction to the masses. However, it left out some other facts about taking action, planning, learning, growing, etc.

Everyone on this board probably knows that wishing and thinking alone doesn't create an online business. Yet, The Secret on some level seemed to suggest just that. While it is correct to say that success starts in the mind; it is incorrect to say that that is all that is needed.

For instance, The Answer brings in the Law of Action: A seemingly obvious law, but its one that many people struggle with.

It then goes into a lot about how the brain works, especially with respect to the conscious and subconscious. It explains that the subconscious controls about 97% of our behavior - this is why many people 'consciously decide' to lose weight, for example, yet continue with the same habits.

It also discusses briefly the phenomena of neuroplasticity and how to literally change your brain. It gives clear instructions as to how to do this. Essentially, it involves:

·drawing up your picture of success
      ·making specific goals
·give it meaning, by adding charitable contributions and 'why' you are doing it etc.
·using past successes to build confidence
      ·affirmations, vision boards, daily rituals
·linking goals, affirmations etc with strong positive emotions

The above is the first part of the book, the second part is all about how to create your dream business. A brief summary is as follows:

      ·Your ideal customer
      ·Your ideal customer's top 3 hot buttons
·Create an elevator pitch for your business
      ·Create your USP
·Reach your ideal customer - grab (headline), engage (subheadline), inform (body copy), offer (call to action).

This is a very brief overview of the book, there is quite a bit more in it (quantum physics stuff, for example). Some of the content will likely not be new to a lot of people on this board; however, the exercises and layout are quite useful.

Check it out and let me know what you think.

      Thanks, Bill.

Thanks for the overview, Bill, I appreciate it.

I was interested in your summary of the book. I looked it up on Google and Amazon.

I've been studying this type of material for quite a while. Brain science, psychology, physics, visualization, business planning are all areas where I've been fortunate to find lots of great material.

It looks like the book probably wouldn't have that much new material for me. It also looks like it does a really great job with a one-book introduction for people new to these subjects. For someone who hasn't looked into these areas yet, or doesn't understand how they fit together, it could be a good way to quickly get the "grand tour."

I hope that your review gets more people into books like this so they can start expanding their thought process.

The part of the table of contents that intrigues me is "finding your business's DNA." No idea what he means by that. I wonder if he has just that part as an article or blog post?

Thanks for the tip. I'm a fan of Charles Haanel, and this sounds like a great book to followup and hone in on some of the law of attraction principles. I downloaded the book.

Great overview of the book, thanks. I like the idea that it explains the subconscious process of our thinking etc. Sounds interesting.

A great book that changed my life would be Andrea Hirata's "Laskar Pelangi" and its sequels. It's an Indonesian series. It talked about an extremely poor kid who lived in an island in Indonesia who worked hard and finally got a scholarship to Sorbonne. I was worried about my college tuition fees at the time. This series gave me hope.

I'd like to recommend one as well. It's actually an audio course not a book. I don't know whether it's available in print as well.

It's called Rule Your World by Harry Browne. I think the title says it all.

UnDenIeD, I haven't read that book by Harry Browne. Two of his books I have read made a big impression on me: How I found freedom in an unfree world, and an investment strategy book (with the "permanent portfolio" concept) where I can't think of the title right now.

Jag, I think there are a lot of other books that would probably be more useful than that Secret follow-up. For example, the one Bill used to start this thread!

One book that change my life is 'The Game' by Neil Strauss. It is as much a book on personal development as it is on social dynamics.
It changed the way I look at relationships and helped to turn around my social life.
The psychology in it is deep and can be applied to different areas of life.

Few books have that kind of impact.

One advice for forum addicts: Get offline and get social, it helps your business, in a lot of un-obvious ways. If being social is your weak point, read 'The Game'. Understand the underlying psychology of social dynamics. As with Internet marketing, it is a learnable skill.

      Cheers
