January is a crap month

I remember this from last year.

November = great month. Lots of sales. Whoopwhoop.

December starts of ok. Then its Xmas. Slight drop, but not too much of a drop. Still whoopwhoop.

And then comes January!. What is it with january? People have no more money? Do they make resolutions "lets spend less money on internet crap"???

Anybody else recognize this?

There aren't any crap months unless you decide they are.

Yeah, January is certainly no November or December, but that's just a reason to work harder.

January sees less spending for many businesses. I'm a consultant by trade, and every January my customers are tighter on the purse strings, then usually around March, they start to cut POs for major projects.

Honestly? For me January is already better then November and December combined. I really saw a dive in my earnings those two months and I'm glad this month is better. It all depends on what you're promoting I guess.

It's all relative. With all of the nasty weather, January can be rather depressing. To counteract such negativity, I view January as a fresh new start and make it a point to work on my business every day until I get great results. I've learned from mistakes and am making some progress.

Actually some businesses like tourism are doing better than normal around nov- mid feb. So it depends what angle you see your business from. My business in electronics and entertainment system is always low late dec and january because everyone is exhausted on spending the festive weekends like X-mas and new years.
January is actually time of the year for relaxation and wellbeing.

I used to think that Jan was a slow month because of people trying to catch up on paying for the holidays. However I now do pretty good by offerring to set up a direct debit payment system to work the sale into my customers budget! It works great!

I'm not sure what your business entails exactly but January and February were my best months ever and March is looking great too. I don't buy into the January is crap belief. Usually when people say this I try even harder to come up trumps - and I did.

I think if you tell yourself upfront that the month will be bad, it certainly will become a reality. Remember, success starts in your mind.

    All the best
