Im not Afraid to ask for Help...

A couple of weeks ago, I wrote a post saying that I get paralyze or something when it comes to taking action.
What I do know about myself and from what others have told me is that I become the best at whatever I decide to pursue.
I don't mean the best on a competitive, however I get complimented on my efforts.

Honestly, I've been researching IM for maybe 2yrs. I have definitely learned a lot, I must say.
I learned about Setting Goals, Time Management, and other Personal Development tips.
But,
I just freeze up or something. It's like I don't know where to start. I do know of methods, I know this stuff, but maybe it's because I'm getting into this field by Myself.
I dont know anyone who those this...
This is why I joined this community to make friends with like minded people doing the same.

The issue of mines could possibly be procrastination, but it could be the F word...FEAR!

I work well with people and I believe I need some guidance.
If anyone is interested in helping me out and help get me started, PLZ PM me.
I'm not asking for anyone to baby me or nothing like but I just want someone that can guide me for a lil bit and show me the way so I can start walking.
So if you're interested, Can you send me a PM?
You can post on here,
It doesn't matter, I'm here to learn and make money while doing that.
Im not afraid to ask to for help.

Thanks
F. Rosé

I don't know you personally but I feel like you have a subconcious fear of failure. When you try to take action your subconcious is stopping you because you're getting out of your comfort zone. Your subconsious keeps you in line with your self-concept.

The best thing to do would be to simply start doing what you know. Start small then gradually work your way up. This will help re-program your subconcious to be comfortable taking action with IM stuff.

Also try asking yourself these questions:

    1. What do I really want?

2.What obstacles stand in my way? and What would keep me from overcoming those obstacles?

    3. If I fail what would be the worst case scenario? Whats the best case scenario? and what's the most likely case?

By answering these questions you can put your fear of failure in proper perspective.

But all in all, just go out there and do it. Don't be afraid to fail. Don't put too much emphasis on the outcome. Whatever happens, succeed or fail, learn from your experience and you'll become much better the next go around

    Hope that helps

    - Sam

I had the same problem (more laziness that fear though). Write down what you give up by not forcing yourself to take action, it made a big difference for me.

    Hey FrankRose!

I totally know how you feel! IM can be very intimidating because there's so much to learn in order to be successful. When I first started everyone just kept telling me, don't get frustrated, stick with it and do your research! Read books about IM, ask tons of questions and read the forums! You can learn so much on these forums and its a great networking tool as well. I've met so many cool people on this forum and I've learned a lot!!!
It's hard to branch out and start something new, but it's also so exciting when you do and then you do it well!!!

Feel free to chat anytime my AIM name is: chelseasbloosky

Procrastination gets even the best of us sometimes.
What you have to make sure of before you do anything else is make sure you clearly have you values in line with you goals. CLEARLY.

At this point, the only thing stopping you is fear:
For that I have this attachment. I really liked it and I hope it helps.
Also, resistance only comes when your "dipping your foot into the water". When your in the in between stage is when all of this stress and resistance comes into play. But once you dive in you feel refreshed and great.
Like Nike said: Just do it! Once you do you'll feel great. Just start trying things live. Gun for it...why not. Use cheap IM strategies at first and learn from trial and error.

All the knowledge in the world is worthless(and a complete waste of time) if you don't use it.

    Aaryn

Frank out of interest how many WSO's have you purchased for instance?
I believe that if one reads and analyses too much information they can become mixed up and unsure in regards of what are the "right" and "wrong" methods of IM.

Great topic, Frank. I clicked Thanks because you got right to the heart of an issue that affects many people.

Do you know what to do, and you just don't do it? That's procrastination.

But if you don't know what to do, that's not procrastination. It's either overwhelm, or vagueness.

Here's the easy way to tell the difference.

Suppose a group of the business leaders you most admire knocked on your door. "Hi Frank, we're here to get your business started! Just tell us what to do and we'll do it for you." If you know what you'd tell them to do, you're procrastinating. If you don't know what you'd tell them to do, then maybe the problem is lack of a plan, not motivation.

    Does this make sense?

    Chris

I stayed busy, worked everyday and went to bed dead tired for years, without a bit of success.
I got a coach and he turned it around for me.
I was not against getting help but I could not see how a coach would help me.
PM me if you want more info.

    Ya! Think about this statement......
    I'm driven Fear......by the fear of fear......EPIC!

If you take the time think about all of the things you're missing out on (or have missed out on) simply because of fear, I'm pretty sure you'll be genuinely afraid of it :p
