My journey to a successful mind using 'lead the field'

So it all started with this thread:

http://www.warriorforum.com/mind-war...ng-pooped.html

Feeling very lost about why I had made so much progress in many regards of my personal development...but alway ending back at square one.

It was suggested that a chronicle of my journey may help others.

After reading countless books, I have been pointed towards 'lead the field' by Earl Nightingale.

In the thread posted above I made these notes so far:
-By perusing personal development I have broken away from the pack and I am actually doing something to better myself. I should be happy and grateful for that
-There is no endpoint!!!! The experience should be in the journey, not the final conclusion, I should be loving what I am doing right now.
-This is 90000th million time I have heard about how important gratitude is...now I have to act on it!
-The simple rules are valid for any personal pursuit (not just money) so maybe I should apply to all aspects of my life
-Attitude! So important. I wake up with the worst attitude and try and make it better after I have woken up, had a shower and breakfast. I have taken his suggestion, and now I have 'attitude' written on my computer screen, my mirror, on my cereal box!
-My goals are probably too flimsy and not direct enough
-My attitude is projected out, and I get back what I put out.

    Just some more notes.

I haven't listened to anymore of the Tape just yet...but I have a buddy at work and we bounce ideas of each other.

-I am raised in an environment where mediocrity is the norm. I am expected to travel through this life in debt to achieve what I want. Now is the time I can start getting myself adjusted to success, and having the mind of a champion.
I realize now this is my 'attitude' to money. I hide money in my house because I am sick of the bank taking it, the phrase 'I cant afford it' comes out of my mouth once a week.
So along with a great attitude to my life...I need a better attitude to money.

Has anyone got any tips or sayings they use when they encounter "I cant afford it" or "maybe next month when I have money"?

-I have never taken a step back to look at my skills and what I can achieve. I should be looking for Diamonds in my own farm. Most of my IM 'career' has been spent trying to find the next thing...without exploring what I already have, and what I can do.
    -also-
In the non-online world I am a professional in a field that has massive potential to generate money...I just need to figure out how.

It's great to have someone who can explore ideas with you. Earl's material is a really wonderful starting point for great conversations. Can you play a ten minute excerpt of the audio at lunch time or break, so your buddy can also hear what Earl has to say?

You've decided to choose your attitude for yourself, rather than just accepting a hand-me-down attitude. You've also decided to evaluate whether advice comes from people who are successful and well informed in the area where they give advice. You've woken up to the fact that many people give advice that's not well informed, just as a habit... it's where they got that mediocre advice themselves. You're recognizing that you can decide to still care about someone, while no longer accepting their default attitudes as your own.

That's a huge change in direction for many people!

Those types of decisions started Earl on his own path.

Growing up in the Depression, he wondered why his family was poor. Nobody could give him an answer that made sense. So he went to the public library to see if he could find an answer. After many years of research he found answers that made sense to him. He spent the rest of his life living and sharing those answers, starting with our ability to choose our own attitude.

The first thing to decide is if these are really your words and ideas, or just someone else's words and attitudes that you're recycling.

Did you first hear this phrase spoken by someone else? Maybe by parents, relatives, other adults when you were a child? Maybe by friends, neighbors, co-workers, buddies you have as an adult? Leaving aside whether or not they were good, kind, loving, honest people, when it comes to the area of money, were these people successful based on the advice they're giving you?

Did they say these things based on a sincere study of the nature of money, value, and financial success? Or were they just recycling unhelpful ideas and negative attitudes someone else had carelessly dropped off in their life - "following the followers" as Earl calls it?

Next question: "What attitude would I have if this was true? Do I want to have that attitude?"

In the non-online world I am a professional in a field that has massive potential to generate money...I just need to figure out how.
That's why Earl talks about attitude, and the Acres of Diamonds story. It's to get you thinking for yourself. Sometimes a secondhand attitude is easy to take for granted. It can take a lot of work to recognize that some things we feel are obvious are not, we're just well trained to accept them.

Later in the LTF course, Earl does have specific material about money and business. It's really outstanding. Keep going through the course and by the time he gets there, you'll be ready to meet him.

Read the action chapter in the science of getting rich. it is available everywhere for free. The best book i read. Like it says ignore everything else but the SOGR. It helped me alot. IMO the Secret ignored the most important chapter on action which is why everyone felt great but many did not accomplish much.

    good luck
