Although hard work is very important way to success for most people, it cannot be denied that luck also plays a significant role. The success in business doesn't mean you got lucky. It means you used luck in an advantageous way. Hard work is often an essential ingredient of luck as it helps you to take advantage of a lucky encounter.

To paraphrase somebody famous that I can't remember at the moment...

I totally believe in luck - the harder I work, the luckier I get.

When you are on "purpose", luck tends to go your way.

Whan luck seems to be going against you, question the path you are taking.

0%. There's no such thing as luck. If you do your best and give your best, the universe is friendly to you. If it's not, it's because it wants you to follow some other part which will work for you.

I sometimes believe in luck and sometimes not. If we work hard then automatically luck comes to our way and there are people who succeed without hard work. Those people are really lucky as they don't have to do something as they are born lucky. Luck is like a gambling as we never know when it will come to our way. And also there are people who always wait for luck without doing anything. We should not do that, because we never know we'll be lucky or not. So, it's always better to work hard and succeed.

The answer is really simple: Luck's there if you believe it is....good or bad.

Exactly correct! We are on the same boat, AwesomePossum!

What you believe in unconsciously is what will become true

      on your outer world.

To get lucky is to eliminate the chains of sabotage in you

and replace with with positive ones, IMHO at least.

This is a great thread! I really enjoy the diverse perspectives

here. The collective wisdom in this forum is just to say the

      least... PHENOMENAL!

      Godspeed To Us All!!!

      Cheers,

I have read a few thing on this. The research i have seen says . The person who sees themselves as lucky. Will find a 20$ bill on the street on the way into a sandwich shop . Pick it up go in possibly buy someone elses lunch. Remember the even and talk about it. The person who seed themselves as unlucky . Will step over the 20$ bill go in buy lunch and go home without seeing anything different or out of the ordinary.

Lucky people will take paths and be out doing stuff that increases the likely hood of unlikely events happening.

It is like anything it comes down to self image. Lucky stuff won't happen to you if your not out where lucky stuff can happen to you. You also have to know when lucky stuff is happening

Totally agree with Laura Knight. There has been extensive researches for Feng Shui and related believes trying to change one's fate or luck. There is definitely no escape from bad and good karma, the only way to redeem your bad karma is to do a lot of charity works. I have done it, why don't you try too...

    1) Do you believe in luck?

No! If I did...Then I would say I am extremely unlucky...Why you ask?

    - I got my house taken down by the govt...Because they considered some part of it to be illegal.

    - I paid for mistakes of other people...Don't ask me why or how...I have paid hundreds of thousands of dollars to get other people out of trouble.

    - I have found myself in problems which weren't directly created by me but I had to solve it.

    - I have had months of absolute fear not knowing how I would even find a way out.

    - I never had anything easily handed over to me...And had to really struggle right since the beginning.

So technically speaking...I am really unlucky. But guess what? It was all a good lesson. I have been burned so many times...That I am not scared of playing with fire anymore.

And this is something which has really helped me a great deal. In fact! Had these things not happened...I wouldn't be what the person I am right now.

    2) To what extent is luck and success related?

Luck is the the term people use when they do not understand how things work. Therefore if you were to ask any successful person...He/she would always say that luck doesn't really exist.

    3) Can you make your own luck?

Again! Luck doesn't exist...And you don't get more or less than what you deserve. And when I say deserve I mean- What you are really willing to do in order to get something.

Some people want to make a million dollars but don't want to work for it. They often look at other millionaires and think they're just lucky but again...That isn't the case.

They fail to see the work and dedication which has gone into making those millions by these people.

    4) Are most people unsuccessful because they are...unlucky...lazy...?

Most people are unsuccessful because they won't do everything they are capable of. Success isn't a property of a chosen few...It attainable by anyone who is really willing to give it everything he's got.

People come to conclusions too early...They won't wait for the seed to germinate properly. If one thing doesn't work they tend to give up altogether. It's all about how persistent you can be.

I believe our mindset determine our luck. If we always stay at negative mindset then we have negative reaction toward whatever situation we are facing consequently we will get bad luck as result.

eg. William is late to meet his customer due to traffic jam. By reaching the destination, he found that he forgot to bring the important document. Finally he cannot make the deal done. This consider bad luck?

If he always stay with positive mindset, he will think of solution before he meet customer instead of keep on talk to himself about the bad luck. With the positive thinking, do you think that he may reserve a chance to win the deal?

I do believe in luck to some extent as in.. If you win the lottery you're lucky sort of thing but I don't think luck is a word I would apply to internet marketing as such... As whatever luck you might get in this field won't just fall in your lap... You need to create it yourself... You may think that some of the top Guru's are lucky... They are making a lot of money... But they did all start at the same point as we did... You have to put yourself in the right place, learn everything you can and ACTUALLY TAKE ACTION... Then, your success may seem lucky to some, but the truth is, it was gained through your own merit!
    Hope I answered your questions

Luck come from work hard. Simply there's no luck if You haven't work hard. You can't hope a bulk of diamond come from the sky right? You just can find the luck to find a diamond if You try to look for it in the mining of course.

Hi, there was another post here about luck but I'm not sure if it was first started before or after this. Anyway, I believe that luck partly has to do with the result of how much effort we put in our work and also getting ourselves out there in the world. Doing both of these things can bring in opportunity which can also be referred to as luck in my opinion.

If I didn't have any bad luck... I wouldn't have any luck at all.

Lots of people develop superstitious behaviours to do with luck. Such as sportsmen wearing lucky socks. Or, when making a bet, working out how you'd spend the money if you won. People in casinos are very superstitious. Once my wife and I were in a casino in london on the craps table and we won a few in a row. As we were leaving, one of the highroller gave us £50 to keep playing with so we'd be the ones throwing the dice.

When something good or bad happens people look back to the most likely cause, from this we get superstitious ideas about luck.

The harder I work and don't think about luck, the luckier I get. Let go of even thinking about it. Focus on what you want in your reality instead, and it will be realized.

You may want to look for a book called "The luck Factor" by Richard Wiseman.

You may also want to consider two quotes (I'm sorry I don't know who they are from)

I believe in luck - the harder I work the luckier I get.

Luck is what happens when preparation meets opportunity

I merely believe in luck to the extent that if it does exist you may your own. You put out the energy you get back from the universe. You create your own self fulfilling prophecies and your own cycles. If you're in constant belief that only bad things happen to you, they will. When good things happen you can call them good luck, or when bad things happen you can chalk it up to poor luck. But, to me, these all boil down to what you give the universe.
