Hey guys. I've been on hiatus for the past few weeks. My exams are coming really soon and school assignments and projects are piling up!! So anyone can recommend me a good time management plan? I'm currently busy with school and i'm working part-time just to support and make my IM career come true. A good time management plan anyone?

There are several suggestions in the "getting organized" thread right here. Also, browse the entire Mind Warriors thread - it's a topic that comes up a lot.

    azhan,

since you are going to be working so hard on cramming for exams, do not try to master any new techniques for your online business right now.

Use your time wisely and just take action on the things that you are already confident in doing, whether it is blogging or article marketing or PPC. whatever you already know how to do, just do more of that. Then when your tests are over, you can go into learning mode again and try new techniques.

    Good luck on your exams!

    Whatever you do, be persistent!

People who are persistent in their goals and tasks will be successful.

With time management, you need to be persistent with your schedule, habits and
goals. This means you should plan your day, your goals and act on your to-do list
    persistently.

Many people start off being very well organized and plan everything from getting
a new notepad, to tidying their desks...and then they GIVE UP???

Normally the reason is because they've lost interest or they want to work on
some other new ideas which they have.

This is like throwing your time and hard work down the drain.
The work you have done previously is wasted. You'll rarely get back to it. Even if
you do, you would have lost the momentum and interest in the project.

While working on your new project, you will very likely get distracted again and
work on something else or see a new product, buy it and study it.

If there are several things you will learn from this book, then please let this be
one of them. Define what your goals are and what projects you want to work on.
Then go full throttle and work on it to completion.

Be persistent with all of your projects and ideas. Don't leave them unfinished.
You'll find that you'll get a lot more done and the results are much better.

Best of luck with your exams, I'm sure you will do well.

    -Michael

When it comes to time management I have 5 ways to help take control of your time:

    1. Force yourself to focus on the present. (a lot of time is wasted letting our minds drift and not paying attention with the task at hand)

    2. Plan out the hour blocks of your day. (have specific time when you're studying for exams, when you go to work, when you work on IM, etc)

    3. Learn to delegate time consuming activities that can wisely be delegated (buy your time)

    4. Identify time robbers and find out how to deal with them effectively (so much of our time is stolen by distractions, other people including family and friends)

    5. Plan out and prioritize your day before it starts. Prioritize your activities by importance.

Use those 5 guidelines and you should be able to manage your time more effectively.

One of the things that worked for me and might work for you is going to a quiet place in your college library and study and/or finish writing your papers there. Plan to devote two-three hours in the morning or late afternoon.

I can practically guarantee that you will get a LOT of work done.

When I held a full-time job and attended classes as a part-time university student, I spent Saturday mornings in the reference room at my local public library. Trying to write all of those papers at home was just too distracting. I successfully wrote papers and studied for exams with great results.

Ya dude.....lay out all of your homework and subjects, prioritize them(through urgency(the amount of time needed for your assignments and studies compared to the time you have to finish each of them) and importance)

Then map out the way you're going to attack it

Then get to work. At this point, you know what needs to be done and that everything is properly accounted for. You're mind won't be wandering off and freaking out about how you're going to finish everything and when...it's all taken care of

If you follow this, you'll be 1000X better off than you were before.

Totally agree with AwesomePossum. Make a list, in order of importance complete each task. Even plan your play time or reward yourself for completing a tasks. That way you have something to look forward too. But don't get distracted in the task.

Remove any distractions. If something pops into your mind unrelated to what you are doing, write it down on a notepad for later and continue on with what you were currently doing. Don't get sidetracked with the distraction because before you know it, it's an hour later and an hour wasted.

The key is to do it and stick to it. (Your list/plan) otherwise you can kiss your time good-bye.

    Good luck!

    I agree with Bret....

Stray thoughts kill. It's called the butterfly effect...one stray thought leads to chaos.
