I've found that stretching your main body parts morning and night gives a loose, relaxed, clarity of thought type of vibe. I seem to strategize much more effectively when I'm not so tense and tight.

Hope it helps.

On a similar vein, I like to do my workouts first thing in the morning. It helps set the pace for the rest of the day and gets me going.

I'm with you Matt...a great workout in the morning sets the pace wonderfully for me for the rest of the day. I haven't gotten too much into stretching though. My wife keeps trying to get me to go to her yoga class so maybe I'll take her up on it one day. But the idea is to get up and out of your office and do something that builds your body up. Doing so will also strengthen your mind. Sitting slouched over your desk all day is not good for either your body, mind or your work!

Son of mine is a physical trainer and "introduced" me to kettlebells last year.

I keep one close and when I get fatigued after hour or two at keyboard, pick it up and swing it for a couple of exercises/reps and back to work.

Keeps me concentrating when at the desk as well as moving a few red blood cells throughout the day.

I agree that a morning workout is a fantastic way to start the day with a boost of energy.

In terms of exercise regimes, I really enjoy a morning jog!

      Love the kettlebell idea, thanks.

I recommend a great DVD called AM/PM Yoga. It has a variety of both morning and evening yoga routines that help wake you up in the morning and prepare your body for sleep. Some routines are quick - 15 minutes or so - and some are longer, up to 45 minutes.

Good idea, but it's hard to keep it going. Need to be consistent.

There are mornings that I don't!! However once you get started the flow just seems to keep you going.
