Are you really working hard?

Lately i have been thinking - is there such a thing as working hard in internet? I think it's fun. Everyday, you see progress, you see how you climb in google rankings and how your income starts to grow - it's fun, it's like a video game. You have so many choices what exactly to do: Write a new article? Or maybe build backlinks? Or maybe create a new video? And you can even listen to you favorite music or chat with your friends while you work.

Start looking at IM as fun. You can't imagine how fast your business is going to grow if you start thinking like that.

I don't think it's hard work anymore, but when I first started out it was a tough thing to wrap my brain around. I didn't know how to build websites, how to promote products, etc.

I remember several late nights behind the computer yelling at my screen, cursing the Google gods and sitting on the phone with hosting trying to figure out these problems.

Since then, so much has changed. Of course I run into occasional problems, but one thing that internet marketing has taught me is patience. If I get stuck on a problem and don't make any progress for up to an hour, I shut off my computer and try again tomorrow. Usually by the next day, I've already figured it out in my head. And if I don't, I come to Warrior Forum and ask.

I have lots of fun in online marketing. I never knew that making money could be so easy.

IM is the most fun you can have with your clothes on , but just occasionally it can be very very hard work. But you have to take the rough with the smooth.

Even now i still jump out of bed most days looking forward to what i have to do

I think we are very lucky to live in this day and age where hard work is sitting down at a computer!

The only time it is tough for me is when I feel like I have too much to do in a short period of time. Feeling overwhelmed can be a bit much. But otherwise I have no complaints

It was hard work when I started, but now its just as much fun as it is work.

Its so amazing being able to start a business with 0 capital and 0 risk. That is unheard of. And a business that rewards insanely for creativity.

    im in love

Amen on that one......and it can be damn tough when it does become real work. Some of these guys can relate about "hitting it big swiftly".

I was present and webmastering for a website a long time ago that made one of the overnight success businesses back in the late 90s.
Here we were with some cheap setup (one which I had removed a warez site from the very day I started with them) and we hit #1 for gambling and ranked high for most of the related keywords almost overnight. This was when online gambling was starting to boom.

Needless to say that began my 100+ hour weeks... Friggin unbelievable to say the least. Trips to Canada to install servers, working with Microsoft and Coldfusion engineers, $40,000 database servers, and on and on non stop.
Just to finally get everything sorted out only to have to go back within weeks to do it all over again because how swiftly everything was growing. Not to mention site development and management.
All of this while making sure the site kept running even if it meant rebooting it every 20 minutes. Funny thing rebooting a server while flying on a plane trying to get to it's location....craziest thing ever and "nearly" impossible back then...

Certainly one of the best times of my life! Also one of the worst...

People talk about success and money but be careful..you may get more than you bargained for. If mishandled you can also lose it all, often much faster than you made it.

Sometimes there does come a time to use The Exit Plan... imo

    Well, I'm a newbie but...

Just bought my first paid hosting plan (bluehost), and 5 domains!

WOO, I'm kinda psyched. A product I was about to jump into promoting just underwent some big changes, and changed it's name. I got to grab up:

    productnamereview.com
    productnamereview.net
    productnamecsam.com
    productnamesystem.net (they own .com)
    productname.org (they own .com)

    This thread gives me hope!

I'm at the beginning of heading (finally!) in the right direction with IM and, up until now, I've been floundering. Talk about stress.

I look forward to the future when things are more fun than frazzling.

Hard work... Yes sometimes and long hours too, but that's only noticeable in looking back. When you love what you do you just move ahead.

Very well said. This stuff only becomes hard work when you don't love what you're doing.

If that's the case...whether you love it or not, you shouldn't be doing it.

My favorite part about internet marketing is unexpected money. I can't tell you how many times I've received money into my paypal account or a check in the mail for products that I don't remember selling, or products that I promoted and didn't know I sold as many as they paid me for. This month, my unexpected money was $280 more than what I was expecting. The best part of this is it's happened to me 5 months in a row now!

When you work a normal 9-5 job, you know what your paycheck will look like every time you receive it.

I don't work hard anymore, I work smart. Some days my staff and I are loaded with several tasks to get done and other days I'm posting blogs like this on Warrior Forum.

It's inspiring to read all these comments, I too enjoy being behind the computer, but for those like me who are still learning and trying to figure which way to go it is hard, as there is so much info and so mych learn.

The idea is to concentrate on your strengths first and build on it. Too many times we tend to jump from on thing to another because we may think the other thing is better than we we have just done, instead of having patience and see it through.

Hoping to be there where many of you enjoy seeing $$$ in your accounts.

It is fun - sometimes I think other people not involved in IM just don't get that fact. They think you're crazy to put in so much effort, especially when you don't get paid straight away for each bit of work you put in. Yet something about it is fun and it's addictive. Of course, I do get tired sometimes with mundane tasks. But when I do, I generally remind myself that I'm lucky to be doing this.

    Agreed Ruth,

Yes part of IM is work. There are things that arent that fun to do but that must be done. But when you compare it to almost any offline job, NO COMPARISON.

I still laugh at all my friends who work at investment banks and consulting firms. I was almost right there with them. The great thing about the internet is that anybody can love what they do because you can do what you love.

If you love martial arts, you can be a millionaire teaching others online about martial arts...if you like cooking, you can make a substantial income in the cooking niche.

    There is something for everybody!

Even when I started out, just learning about everything there was to learn about was invigorating to me. Sure, it seemed like a huge mountain to climb, and it was intimidating at times, but for some reason it just got my blood boiling and I started reading, and doing. I've been working as fast and as hard as I have time for ever since, and continue to do so now. I always seem to get this way when I find a new obsession, and I know it will plateau eventually, so I just embrace my fervor for as long as it lasts. That way, I'll know I accomplished what I wanted to and can be happy when my level of work flattens out to a steady pace that I feel comfortable with. For now, though, it is just endless fun to write, read, discuss and create! Thansk for asking the question, Lett.
