A genuine passion for your project will multiply your success!
However, when I write about something I am not passionate about, my writing falters. My lack of interest bleeds through the writing and provides a dull, shallow article to the reader. Readers can tell quickly if you know what you're talking about or if you even enjoy that you're talking about.
When I began my web development hobby, I wrote about things that might make money. I failed, poorly. I was more interested in making money than doing what I love. Even if it had made money at first (and I am glad it didn't) I would have eventually fallen flat because of my non-interest.
Here's my encouragement to you:
If you're submersed in a money-making world, take a step back and think about what you love/used to love doing. Ask yourself, "Is this something I would be very happy doing for the rest of my life?" "Is this something I call a job, or is this something I call a passion?"
It's great to help people find what they need online; but if you're providing sub-optimal content with a sales pitch for the sake of making money, you're degrading the experience for everybody involved. Conversely, if you're doing what you love, your readers/clients/buyers will thank you, they will take a lot from it, and you'll earn customers and sales quite naturally. A well-oiled machine.
Like I've always said, "My goal is for my customers to ask for my product before I have the chance to offer it to them." And this will happen if you show a genuine, heart-filled interest and passion in what you do.
