The Real Secret To The Secret

It's funny I wrote about this in my newsletter and a little in my book how the one main thing the movie the Secret leaves out is taking action. I also saw it mentioned in a Brian Tracy video who said almost the same thing.

It's funny how as many as people who have seen it and thought it was great, no one thought about the action part. It's fantastic to be positive 24/7 but also get the right knowledge and take action and then you can really reach your goals and dreams.

If I may add to your thought...

You must take action. It is also important to take the RIGHT action. I use my inner compass to determine if the action is right for me or not. Sometimes even when everything seems right, I'll get a feeling that I shouldn't do it so I don't. The inverse is also true for me: if I get a feeling that I should do something, even if it doesn't seem to make perfect sense in the moment, I usually go for it.

Let's hear from the other warriors' on it.

Chris is spot on. The right type of action is what you need.
Most people jump from having an aha-moment to taking massive action.
That's the wrong type of action. Big time.
scientific studies show this over and over again:
the only type of action you should ever take is the type of action that moves you to the next stage of readiness (to take massive action).

that's incidentally almost all courses (whether here in the offers section or anywhere else on the Internet) have that big bold statement "and now go take action" and still only ever around 10% of all people use the information in all these courses and guides. They simply take the wrong type of action.

Like Chris says (and Eben Pagan said a similar thing): sometimes the illogical/counterintuitive thing is the right thing to do (Eben said that most of the time that's the right thing to do)

Yes you're right about taking the right action thats why I said having the right knowledge and taking immediate action.

A lot of people learn something that they hear and go out and try for massive problems. If you have the right knowledge, know how to apply that knowledge and take immediate action then success can come faster and easier.

there's a thread going on in the main forum on what might be the best next product.

I seriously think a newbie guide that virtually guarantees a first single buck within a couple of days by taking just a few very simple steps would be the best thing ... that way they're still focused on don't see the next magic bullet before they have their first success.

act fast, fail fast, try again fast.

the big problem is that many have failed so often that they don't even try anymore, but rather buy yet another course and hope that by some magic ....

OMG you stole my ebook idea. Just kidding, I have an ebook coming out and a main theme is just that. The Secret crowd took out the action part because it sells soo much better when the public thinks you don't have to do anything and you get what you think about.

You can eat an Elephant but only one mouthful at a time. So it goes with everything else. It must all be done with small steps of action.

Yes have your goals big and have the path way to them planned also with smaller goals that allow the big goal to be attained.

Well the key to success through secret is through effective positive self talk and creative visualization. There action is mainly about practicing creative visualization, which would propel one towards the real action.

The right action is the way to go. I still wonder why the secret left the taking of the right action part. One would think with all the great teachers in it they would remember that.

"Every action has an equal and opposite reaction." Which basically means, nothing will happen without, you guest it, "Action". "The Secret" in itself is just one big lie and unfortunately too many people believe it. There are millions of courses on "thinking positive" which are much better than "The Secret". Seriously, try telling a debt collector to just think positive and the world will change. It just doesn't happen. If it was that easy, everyone would be successful, because most of us do dream big. If you were to only follow the advice of the secret and never take action, you will still be broke. A better method:

      1. Decide to Take Positive Action
      2. Think Positive and Believe in Yourself
      3. Create Small Goals
      4. Take Action
      5. Achieve Goals

That should have been the outline for "The Secret" but the creators were banking on the fact that people would actually believe in magic and miracles.

Actually the word ACTION is mentioned two times.. nonchalantly... at the 29:09 and 29:23 mark in the movie (extended version). It's the scene where the girl wants to join a beach volley game and then again when the group is inviting her to join them for lunch.

As you may recall, right before this scene there was the scene about the boy who wished for a bike and it suddenly appeared. The ACTION part was not mentioned in that scene. But in reality, what happened is that the boy wished for a bike, told his dad about his wish, his dad told him to get off his lazy azz and get a paper route... save his money and then buy the darn bike. ACTION.

But you are right... ACTION is not part of The Secret. It just boils down to:

    • Ask
    • Believe
    • Receive

Which was scammed from The Bible:

Mark 11:24 - Therefore I say unto you, What things soever ye desire, when ye pray (ASK), believe that ye receive them (BELIEVE), and ye shall have them (RECEIVE).

It was a lie back then and it's a lie today. Speaking of lies... remember the Emerson quote at the beginning of the DVD after a number of famous people were mentioned (like Lincoln and Einstein)? The quote was: "The secret is the answer to all that has been, all that is, and all that will ever be." Well, Emerson never said it. Another lie that the credulous viewer accepts as "the truth."

To me the real secret to seccess is firstly you should know what is it really that you want..now many people would say money... but the fact is they dont want money....they want something else which money gives to them...personally to me, i wanted money because i dont want to depend on others.... that was my first inner requirement...other stuff comes next to me. So one should really know what is it that s/he really wants. The next thing should be thought control.. if you cant control your thoughts... you will jump from one thought to other and this process will never end...unless you take control of it. So one should make it a pirority to practice concentration in order to control thoughts... because thoughts become words.. words become action..action becomes habit... habit becomes your character... and it is your character that will determine what you will become in the end.

Trust your instincts, and avoid second guessing yourself. You spend your time and energy on preparing yourself to make the right decisions, the heat of the moment is no time to question your own training and you have to be able have all your data in the forefront of your mind so that you can make decisions in the heat of the moment, and make the correct decision with your internal compass.

Until recently, I didn't take action nearly as much as I should have. I spent so much time analyzing and planning and that was really it. Focused, persistent action is definitely needed if you want to achieve your goals.

      My advice would be dont!

I found them providing more questions than answers but that could be just me personally.

But there are far superior books than "The Secret"

The DVD is excellent. Extremely well made considering they did it on a small budget. But... The Secret is nothing more than new age (pseudoscience) B.S. ... yet it's fun to watch. It made me smile a lot.

If you truly believe you only have to do this...

Without taking ACTION (it's so absent from the DVD), then you're as credulous as 99.9% of the viewers. So you'll need to take the red pill in order for your skepticism and B.S. detectors to start firing giving you a "heads up" when viewing or reading stuff like this.

Haven't seen the movie nor read the book, but from what everybody is saying I guess I should stick to my guns. I'll continue taking focused action. I encourage everybody to continue too!

Woah, woah, hold on a minute! What do you guys think preceeds every action? That's right, a thought. And by thinking the right kind of thoughts, you will almost inevitably do the right things.

Of course action is required, but they will flow naturally once you get your thoughts in order. Think of dominos! - The initial push = thought, the consequential reaction = actions. Consider this:

If you've always believed yourself to be a procrastinator which will never achieve anything so it's not even worth trying because the world is full of injustice and you changed this belief to:

      - You're an action taker which guides him self by the universal laws and enjoys learning new things and forming new relationships constantly

... how long do you think it would take you before you started taking action and changing your life?

The thing is simple. Thoughts motivate creative actions. Without proper thoughts, you just wouldn't take any actions. True, some thinking occurs on subconscious level (you don't need to think: run! when you spot a lion out in the open), but it still requires a thought process.

The movie the Secret actually does mention taking action. Joe Vitale speaks about it very clearly when he talks about intuitive hunches. He says not to delay in acting upon it because the Universe likes speed!

While I don't know if that's true, it's certainly a good idea to take action now than later, because... we only live in the now!
