I have several goals which I want and WILL achieve this year.

Im a big fan of sticking to one goal and giving it all your intention until you achieve it but I am thinking now would it possible to work on achieveing 2 goals at the same time?

Like do you think I can balance a goals I have to achieve once they are not contradicting one another and are in different parts of my life like achieving a certain level of fitness and a goal to achieve great grades in college?

Or any other goals I might have once they are not contradicting?

What you guys think?

    Dayne,

My experience has been that you can only FOCUS on one thing at a time. Though I think it's entirely possible to improve more than one area of your life or business (say fitness and income level) in the same time period, you will need to set specific times to FOCUS on what's before you at the moment. So, for example, maybe you block off two hours in the morning for improving your health. The rest of your work day is focused on business. I also find it extremely helpful to set SMART goals (Specific, Measurable, Attainable, Relevant and Time Sensitive. What some people consider goals are doomed to failure because they do not contain these essential attributes. Once you've created your smart goals you need to prioritize them so you can maintain that necessary focus. Choose your first goal and break it into the objectives or action steps necessary to accomplish your goals...hope this helps.

It's certainly possible to achieve two goals at once. In fact, more than that. The problem arises when you try to achieve the goals all by yourself. Work smart by delegating other peoples' time, money, and talents in helping you achieve your goals.

No one is a major success by themselves. Surround yourself with productive people and you'll accomplish infinitely more

It is absolutely possible to acheive more than one goal at a time. I have set goals for most aspects of my life, some large some small.

I think for somebody they can only focus on one goal at a time but for others like myself, I can manage multiple.

Yes as long as you understand the difference and requirements of both goals, you can achieve them. If you are sure about your tasks and your capabilities, it good to go.

I've found it helps a lot if the goals are related or complementary. But it's not impossible to achieve your goals if they're not. Problems start when you're trying to achieve multiple "money goals" or "relationship goals" or "whatever else goals." For example, if you're trying to launch 2 businesses (or Web sites) you will have a much harder time than if you focused on 1 until it was successful and then launched the other.

I'm going to have to say two goals is actually better than one...

One for work and one for play

That's exactly what I'm doing with my work right now...First, I'll let you in on my goals.

A $1M dollar biz by the end of the year....a$10M biz at the end of 2.

Harmony and balance...this is for my personal life!

Having these two goals have actually helped each individual goal...it's crazy. I'm more calm and collected at work.

And I'm happy and content in my personal life.

The beauty is that there aren't any crossups for me...my mind isn't wandering a million different places...this might have to do with my concept of balance but regardless having two goals has helped me more than one.

I think it gives us balance in our lives...for instance getting in great shape is important to getting good grades...once I started working out and eating healthy, my mind was actually better...I could focus and I had more energy...I just felt a million times better...and it's great for your personal life.

By setting two goals your more likely to achieve one : )...that's my personal oppinion

Goals should be made in all aspects of life: Health, wealth, social, personal development, etc.

Therefore, accomplishing 2 or more is not only possible, but ideal.

      Caveat:
Your goals have to be congruent with each other!!

The problem of accomplishing more than one goal at a time arises when your goals hinder, or are in direct opposition to each other.

A quick example would be someone who wants to 1) make a lot of money, and 2) not work very hard. This is almost always bound to fail.

      My two cents.

      Bill.

Go for it! I do it all the time. As the guys above have mentioned. It is great to mix it up and have a balance with your goals. I wrote an article on SMART Goal Setting a while back. Check it out if you'd like - SMART Goal Setting.

    Good luck,

I think it depends on how serious you are about the goals. Yes, focusing on one would probably get results quicker, but it is entirely possible to have more than one goal. It all comes down to time management. If you set aside time for each goal you will achieve both, and don't forget that if you believe you can achieve both you will.
