Hey All,

Long time lurker here. I thought it was time i began to post a few things, get to know the community a little, it IS the very essence of how we grow.

I would like to show you a pic of my desk, where I work.

Nice Huh? Well its just a desk, notepad, blackberry, speakers, 23 inch monitor coffee cup and what i wanted to draw your attention to, a Book.

I think in this day and age of technology, and digital retailing/Affiliate Marketing etc we often forget the primeval forms of information sources...PAPER BOOKS

(Does anybody know about paper books anymore????:rolleyes

This Book (And its sequels) 'The Art of Happiness' by Howard Cutler and The Dalai Lama is probably my most treasured book (Apart from a Tony Robbins book and first print
Dostoyevsky)

Within these pages is two great minds coming together to talk about , well quite literally, the art of being happy.

Why it is relevant and why i felt compelled to write this post is that along with any Tony Robbins book, i feel this is one of those books you MUST have.

Too often as human beings we look past ourselves, which can more often than not have adverse affects. I have been in so much s**t, i am still dealing with the repercussions. If i had just paid attention to me, and being intrinsically happy, then i wouldnt be in the spot I am now. I feel that with this age of digitizing EVERYTHING we often get caught up with material happiness (iCrap products anyone??) and neglect our own selves in the quest we now have to acquire the latest and greatest.

I think this is a book you ALL should read.

Peace and Success
Joshua

The Art of Happiness is one of my favorite books all time...I haven't studied it yet but I've read it.

I honestly think this book is better than every Tony book based on the fact that it's one of the very few books that promotes emotional intelligence.

Either Tracy or Robbins has something on building good relationships..have you gone through that by any chance?

Well Put. I like robbins for his style, he just triggers something in me. But these Books ( i also have the sequels) are so great because of the Dalai's Eastern buddhism teachings and Cutlers Western psychology. they call it the Psychology of Happiness....SUCH a great series of books.

Pm me if you want all my notes, i have studied these books in length.

I have a lot of HardCover books from robbins on relationships, so i dont know if any of those are what you are after....

Ya, that's what makes Robbins great...he just knows how to unleash something that few people understand...I haven't gotten into him yet just cuz there's so much stuff out there.

Just curious...is Emotional Awareness a par of that series?

oh cool...that actually make perfect sense that Tony has a bunch of books on relationships. It's something I have to wait for...

Have you ever heard of Eben Pagan? He has this video series called Connected and it's great for relationships....I'm actually starting on that really soon...would you like to study it with me?

This is completely random but I just bought a paper book today!! It's called The Middle Way...it's like this book about extremism but the beginning of it is legit...it's all about balance and I have trouble finding info on that sometimes...there's like 300pgs of ranting on extremism though...so not going to go through that.

Some of the Dalai Llama's books are really quite good. Some can be really boring, but I read one recently called, "The Universe in a Single Atom" which was really insightful. It talks about the relations between spirituality and science, technology and other things as well. I'd really highly recommend it.

Absolutely agree here!! the man is VERY deep, and sometimes that is just a bit too much. But there are sometimes where his words seem to light a fire in you, the art of happiness did this for me.

Thanks for that book tip, i haven't actually read it yet.

And Hello William, good to see you too
