3 Quotes That Helped Me To Success

I've been at this for 2 1/2 years, and next month will be my first (of many) cash flow positive month. I cannot tell you how difficult the road has been and the countless setbacks, critics, naysayers, and breakdowns I had to get here. There were three quotes I found that no matter what always kept me going. As soon as I open an office these will emblazoned in big bold letters on three separate walls. I hope they encourage some of you as well:

It's not the critic who counts, not the man who points out how the strong man stumbled, or when the doer of deeds could have done better. The credit belongs to the man who is actually in the arena; whose face is marred by dust and sweat and blood; who strives valiantly; who errs and comes short again and again; who knows the great enthusiasms, the great devotions and spends himself in a worth cause; who at the best, knows in the end the triumph of high achievement; and who at the worst if he fails, at least fails while daring greatly, so that his place shall never be with those cold and timid souls who know neither victory or defeat. -- Theodore Roosevelt

    Haha, that Teddy Rosevelt quote was posted at my desk at work by someone who previously worked at this spot.     There is something more tedious about work than gathering ideas, skimming ebooks and thinking about working! The actual work of writing the article, changing ftp permissions, correcting grammar on a blog post or writing your contact website page is not easy. It is the regular, boring and disciplined part that creates the fruit.

    yes I do agree with the Sethi quote.

    But I have to admit that I have been side tracked myself at times, thinking I am doing the work but really just playing another game with myself.. When I look at those activities i am involved in that are working, I have one I started in 2001 and it did not start paying for itself for 4 years, and now it increases every day, STICK-ABILITY is the key.. This activity generates enough to pay the mortgage but its increased over 400% in the last 12 months.. Its taken a long time, but success is sweet no matter when it comes.. I wonder where the next 12 months will take it..

    If anyone worries about how long its taking then try 11 years for an idea that has cost me hundreds of hours of my time working on the side, going to work for a boss, then coming home and putting in more hours.. Dont get me wrong, give me overnight success if its there, i take my hat to those who manage it "congratulations", for that gives me the proof that it is possible and To NEVER GIVE UP..

    Almost 20 years ago read a series of quotes that have stuck with me:


    "Through every adversity there lays a seed of greater or equal opportunity" - when everything goes down the toilet I try to find the opportunity, and many times there is something to be found, or some new idea that comes out of it..

    "if its mean to be its up to me" - this quote always pulls me back into action...

    "through everyone god speaks" - this reminds me to shut the F*** Up, even if the person I am speaking to is a bum on the street, I am of no more importance than he, listen for a jewel may be found... (not so easy to do when your ego wants to come out and play)
