Why are you here?

From my last post I gathered that maybe some of us are here, or originally came here for a reason entirely different from internet marketing. The question is simply, why do you want to be an internet marketer? It doesn't matter what you are marketing, how you are making cash -- the question is why did you start doing it?

As I outlined in an earlier thread, I seriously thought this was going to just be a means to an end for me. I had "other" goals and dreams that meant more to me than this money making pursuit. I was going to milk this cow for all its worth then move into my entertainment prospects.

I began this journey into IM almost one year ago, failing miserably before I stepped back and realized I needed to learn a lot more about this industry. And today I'm feeling so excited about the progress I'm making and was curious to know why all of you started your journey's in IM as well...?

    My main interest in using IM was and still is to become financially independent, so that I can spend as much time with my family (daughter and fiance) as possible. It would be nice to be able to quit my day job and spend the time working independently, working out, caring for my baby, and generally taking care of my hobbies and house work. This is my main, most immedaite goal for the upcoming months. Further than that, I suppose it's to own my own house, and anything else I'll think up later if the money presents itself. The former is the most important now though.

      Very respectable goal and I think one that is common on these boards; to simply provide for your family and to do something that you enjoy. As for me I would also like to quit my day job so I could focus on my entertainment projects, build a recording studio for my area (since there isn't an affordable option for 500 miles in any direction), and to pay off my debts.

    A year a ago i Had the Opinion that Internet marketing is a great way to earn money at a fast rate. This made made me want to join the race and take a slice of the pie. But i was wrong, IM need a good deal of effort, time and knowledge. After initial setback i am finally making some good progress. I don't regret my decision to start my journey in the IM a year ago. Enjoying the experience

    Since I heard news from TV and shows that many young ppl even can make great money from IM. That makes me want to try.
