I met him at his "Unleash the Power Within" conference about 6 years ago. It's expensive (now about $3,000) but well worth it. And yes, I did his firewalk!

If you are familiar with hypnosis and altered states, basically you're in a deep enough trance that you will not feel the pain... I have experienced that level of hypnosis before and it's truly amazing...

NOooo, I does not have anything to do with hypnosis, altered states or trances. I have done the firewalk many times and anybody can do it, you just have to be brave and break your own fear.
Tony Robbins is one of my mentors too. I've read awaken the giant within and listen to personal power I and II but the best is going to his seminars, upw is awesome.

Tony is the man, its a solid message and always one of MASSIVE ACTION and not of simple positive thinking... "There are no weeds in the garden, there are no weeds in the garden, there are no weeds in the garden, and unless take action and you weed it you will have weeds..." I have PPII, UPW, GTE, and a couple other smaller ones that I still listen to when I need a kick in the butt reminder..

Tony Robbins was the first guy i really listened too when i wanted to change my life. I bought the audio of Get The Edge and was hooked. Since then i have bought most of his audio products and find his enthusiasm very uplifting.

I have since moved onto other experts in motivation and positive thinking like Jim Rohn and Bob Proctor but always seem to go back to Tony Robbins when i'm out walking with my headphones on. He talks so fast and with such a zest for life that it's the perfect cd when you need to get moving.

I started reading and listening to Anthony Robbins over 10 years ago. I found his cds to be a literally a lifesaver.

When my teenage daughter was going through a period of low self-esteem, drug use and depression, Tony's personal power cds helped me bring her back from the brink. I can't say enough about Tony Robbin's value.

Tony is great. His background is in a controversial (but in my opinion incredibly effective) approach to change and even psychotherapy called Neuro Linguistic Programming. Beyond just motivating people, Tony is infamous for understanding the nervous system and helping people to condition their own minds. Tony Rocks! Great post, great replies.

I love Tony Robbins' work. I've been to UPW and Wealth Mastery (the last one is an event without Tony though) and got back from those events feeling great and ready for action. I know of some people who are addicted to his seminars - that's not necessarily a good thing... but it says something about the joy and value people get from him.

I always feel very motivated and upbeat after I listen to his programs - especially Get the Edge and Personal Power II.

Tony worked for Jim Rohn and credits Jim for much of the success in his life. He always give credit to Rohn when he quotes him - I'm sure if there is any "plagiarism" it is either unintentional or just because of the relationship they had in life.

Tony has a great approach to motivation. I have seen him at seminar and I really have to tell you that you need to be there to feel his energy. He is a man that has fought obstacles in his life to get to where he is, so as a person who has gone through similar issues.

Tony Robbins is an exceptional speaker. He has passion and belief. Whilst I don't subscribe to a number of his viewpoints it is obvious that many people do. If what he does is beneficial to people, more power to him.

I did the firewalking thing too! Part mental, part - coals not that hot!

I loved his seminar. I do think though that his energy is mainly male energy (not just because he is a male, but we all have a mixture of male and female energies). Jumping up and down and affirming strong affirmations, shouting! This type of energy only lasts a certain time, then it fades out!

The female energy can be explored through Carole Dior's teachings.

I do love Tony Robbins, but he wasn't the absolute answer for me, as far as getting what I want! Some missing puzzle.

Having worked with Tony Robbins over several years in a Marketing/Sales capacity throughout Europe, I've attended dozens of his programs, Peak Performance, Financial, Sales/Marketing & Communication Mastery, and Leadership.

During that period I was fortunate to meet 1000's, and witness some amazing before and after cases, while being privy to some very profound experiences.

What I would say is this, apart from everything else, a fundamental key to individual success is Self Belief.
Tony Robbins is at a pinnacle as a catalyst for change, helping others realise where they are and where they want to be, for some a case of identifying and eliminating barriers in the way. Helping really to instil a mindset to move forward and giving you the tools to do so.

There are many methods that can help us along our journey, and not all may suit everyone (a case of different strokes for different folks), you may not need to listen to a so called 'Guru', but a degree of self evaluation is a good thing and we must all find our way.

Take it seriously, work on yourself, work on what your doing(Internet Marketing), don't take success for granted, but keep things in perspective...

I have met Tony and it was over 15 years ago, a small crowd for his event, in those days he did events that went on up to 20 hours a day for a few days in a row with smaller groups. He would sit on the stage, dangling his long legs over the side and hang out for a chat during his breaks.

I have been able to use key concepts of his in various areas of my life which have a continual impact.

The main thing I have learned, is to pull various successful coaches into your life for the things you need at that point in time, and some of those who our like Tony, will leave with you key insights that you can pull from.

One of my main synergies with Tony is to MODEL WHAT IS ALREADY WORKING!

      Dear Curioz:

What a powerful testimonial. It truly doesn't get much better than that.

Here's my limited experience with Tony so far: I ran across his material in college and just spent a few hours with it. I immediately recognized it's potential for allowing you to create and define your own life. I loved existentialism in college and Tony's material seemed to be a direct outgrowth of it. I must get back to it ! That's why I was so glad to see this thread.

        For Olivia especially:

Thanks to the link to Tony's training blog. I also appreciate your and Rob's nod to my use of the term "inner software." Someone earlier in this thread--perhaps Rob--said something totally in snych with that--something like how 'inner experiences can control external outcomes" I'm paraphrasing but you get the idea. It's great to find people who get into the potential power of these concepts.

Recently, I was on fire with all these sorts of ideas and made this mistake of sharing my enthusiasm with the wrong people--some of whom were close to me--who didn't understand their incredible power. I hit a bit of a speed bump when I realized this, but I am shaking it off. This thread was all the kindling I needed to feel like "All systems GO" again

It's heartening to see how you can be surprised and find a group of like-minded people in a place like WF where one might have just come to flesh out the "IM Toolbox" . This definitely warms to coals of a favorite inner fire of mine.

I wish the same energy for you all, whatever your goals.

I can't agree more to many comments that people make. By accident, someone gave me a copy of 30 day tape of one of Tony's early programmes. I took it, listened to a few of them, thought he was great and then one reason or another got too busy to continue. A few years ago, I thought I'd better do it to the end. I started again, and this time actually followed his programme. It was all free. I didn't pay for it, and got a lot. I mean a lot of it. I am forever indebted to him. Still I have not seen him live ever. Last year, I went for a seminar which he was a guest speaker. He is a bit (or rather) a lot older, was divorced (there goes some of the theories that he was making) and remarried. However, the level of energy was amazing. enormous! I still believe I would trust him better than any psychologist.
