Trying to say: never trust your own efforts (camel), things can go suddenly wrong, it may run from you when you are sleeping

Hi, can you get some explanation on the above proverb.

The quote you are prefering to is part of the Haddith of Islam - it is one of the famous saying of Prophet Muhammad (Peace be upon him).

      The full quote is:

"Trust in God, but tie your camel"

It comes from a story where Muhammad (pbuh) was talking with one of his companions about trusting in Almighty God. The companion asked if he should just leave his camel where it is without tieing it up and then trust in Almighty God that it shall not walk away. From there the Prophet (pbuh) said this quote.

The quotation means: "Do everything you can for yourself first, AND trust in Almighty God"

Which reminds me of another saying: "Nobody wants to help somebody who doesn't help themselves"

I hope I answered your question,

The same is said in the Bible. This is why I wish different religions would just quit fighting and embrace our similarities. It would be a less scary planet.

Do unto others as you would have done unto you.

        and as was said above..

Do what you can do, and let God handle the rest.

Ironically - and I'm sorry to post a "religious" post in this thread - they are the SAME religion.

Believe me, I am a student of comparative religion and both religions are the same - only the Bible is now corrupted, the original (hebrew) has been destoyed and is no longer available to check up, we can only work from a Greek translation which was further corrupted anyway.

If you believe in the Old and New Testement, think of Qu'ran as the Last Testiment - still pure and unedited today, as prophesised in the Bible.

This is why Qu'ran tells us: "With people of the book (Jews and Christians), come to common terms between us and them"

Now..... as I've gone off-topic.... here is a saying I love, I heard it from the Late Bruce Lee:

"Knowledge is Power - however, knowledge without application is NOTHING!"

          Peace.

Do not spit into the well, you may have to drink out of it – Russian Proverb
This point is similar to the Golden Rule - Don't do unto others what you don't want to do unto you.

He who rebukes a man will in the end gain more favor than he who has a flattering tongue..

I like this one. But I like this one more: Open rebuke is better than secret love.
