How to appreciate life today.

Life really is a gift.

Og Mandino has a great exercise to appreciate what you have. It's very simple.

The 2 step process to appreciate what you have is:

1. Grab the newspaper.
2. Read the obituaries.

Ever tried it? I have and it WORKS!

You're right, all things boils down to the fact that we're mortal beings but life will continue to exists till god wishes but before we may depart if we can contribute to the welfare of at least few people I think the purpose of living then has been achieved.

I got your point although by just reading the "good" ones could also push motivation like those in the business scheme who continue to succeed -- they shouldn't only be the ones experiencing the fullest of life but everyone. Alternatively, we should make it happen by appreciating life's goodness and using its benefits.

Mmmh, that wouldn't work for me. How am I supposed to get inspired by looking at dead people? Basically it comes down to what you think when looking at these images. So, I think, I would rather look at pleasant images ...

Thanks! I spent years working in TV news, where you would see the worst of the worst all the time. When you think you have it bad, there is ALWAYS someone worse off than you.

Funny about reading the obituaries... but
    seriously, I don't think it's a good idea to
read about the dead, even though we
will all die someday. Why not concentrate
    on the LIVING?!
