"An idle mind is the devil's workshop." ~ Unknown

Without a major purpose you can't accomplish anything. If you don't know where you're headed how are you going to get there?

The majority possesses either an idle mind. This is because they don't have a definite major purpose. If your mind isn't filled with positive, constructive thoughts directed toward some end rest assured it will obsess about what you don't want.

Follow these tips to fill an idle mind with a definite major purpose.

1 - If you haven't take the time to find your definite major purpose spend today doing so.

DO NOT put this off until later. This is the #1 mistake of most people. They put it off until the weekend, which becomes the following weekend which becomes the next 40 years while they work an undesirable job and wonder what could have been.

It take you a day to find your purpose. It could be weeks. If it takes months it's obvious that you haven't made finding a definite major purpose a priority in your life. Don't think that after 5 minutes of sitting quietly that you'll have a Eureka moment. We each have limiting beliefs which prevent us from clearly seeing what we were meant to do. It may take many hours to remove these beliefs and find your divine purpose, but what else are you doing? Is there something more important than finding out why you were placed on earth?

Think about what you love to do. Think about what makes your heart sing. Whatever that skills consists of it can be monetized in some way, shape or form. Be creative. Think about your passions. Think about your talents. If you think that you don't have any special talents, you do. You just haven't spent enough time to unearth and cultivate them.

2 - Write it down with pen and paper.

After setting aside the time to find your definite major purpose write it down. This is the first step of goal achieving. When put down on paper it becomes concrete. This is also a motivating tool. When going about your daily activities carry the paper with you.

Not engaged in goal-achieving activities? Get on purpose. Pull out the paper. With your goal staring back at you it's easier to move into inspired action.

3 - Develop a plan to attain the goal.

It's OK to design a general outline. Nobody knows the fine print details when drafting their first plan.

If you want to be an author maybe you decide to write 3 articles or blog posts a day. There is no right or wrong answer here.

If your wheels are spinning try this technique. Find a quiet spot and ask yourself what kind of plan can you build. Sit with your thoughts for 20 minutes. Let them run through and out of your mind. Eventually your mind will clear itself and creative ideas will flow to you. With time and practice this method is foolproof, it's an amazing technique to tap into your creative juices.

4 - Put the plan into action on a daily basis

Still have the paper in your pocket? You better. Let it stare at you when you don't feel like doing what should be done.

By itself your plan will do nothing.

An off day here and there is fine but most of your acts should be directed toward your definite major purpose.

Thanks Ryan for sharing this. It's very important to have a major definite purpose that you're going after. If not, any small challenges can put you down.

That's a great point. Before getting on purpose little detours felt like big roadblocks for me. Over time everything yields to your purpose and desire.
