Most of you know that am a newbie at this IM.
Well, I found some success in my three months into IM but my day job was holding me back.
I couldn't handle IM and a full time day job so I had to make a decision. Yesterday, I decided to leave the "secure" day job.
It's a big change ahead for me coz I even decided to start a totally new life in a new country.
On 4th July I will leave New Zealand aand move to Perth, Western Australia to take on a part time contract only job. Its a bit scary but I personally feel am making the right decision and following my dream.
Am very confident I can earn a living out of IM if I do it full time.
I will document my journey here so that others might be inspired by my success story, which I believe is in the making!
Cheers,
Zenji

Congratulations!! That's what makes the difference between an employee and an entrepreneur! There is nothing wrong with being an employee, and in fact, that's what most proeple prefer. According to a video I saw with Donald Trump, the percentage of entrepreneurs vs. employees is about 1% or 2%. That seems very close to the truth if you look around you!
It takes guts and more than that - it takes believing in yourself! Good for you! I love working for myself.

      Well done.
Many marketers never reach success because they never move out of the confort zone. You did it. So, if you keep working hard, you will be able to even quit your part-time job.

    Zenji,
You have taken a good decision.

Leaving a secured job is the ultimate motivation you can have. Now you have to make this IM thing work to survive and you can do it. But just make sure that you set proper goals, create an action plan and stay focused till you make it. Do not run behind the next big thing in IM world every time a new IM product is launched.

    Good Luck.

You are right. I also felt the same way. I still would like to be within the "confort zone" but I basically hate what I do at my day job so I had to do this. Am not driven by money and have always been able to live on the basics so I guess I will survive on the part time job and IM then later quit the part time role!

Yeah, Perth is great. I almost moved to Sydney but the thought of high living cost put me off. Plus there are many kiwis in Perth and its nearer "the rest of the world"!

I think moving away from the secure job forces one to get serious and focus on IM so I expect better results.
Am putting together my business plan at this very moment.
"next big thing"...lol am far away from that "guru hype". I have one system and Senuke plus recently I started ACC but had to put it on hold because I couldn't find time.
Am also considering doing SEO for local businessess in Perth.

I took a similar decision 4 years back. Though I didn,t make much on IM lines.

It helped to run my information business pretty ok. All hopes focused to make it big.

Plus it looks like you planned this move well because you still have a 'job' until December and therefore time to sort out other aspects of your life. All the best.

        Zenji,

That's great news, you've shown a lot of courage and have turned your dreams into reality. Moving country and starting a new path at the same time is a mega change and you have shown a fantastic attitude and determination to achieve your goals.

Look forward to hearing how you progress in your new venture.

I initially got an offer to move to Perth but my employers literally begged me to stay. Got a pay rise of 30% and yet I work very nice hours on my own terms!
Am now counting down to December and once I my contract ends, thats it. Am out completely.
I wont be tempted by employers. I donot intend to keep working for anyone after Dec 17!

          Good for you!

Pay raise + more flexible hours.. more time and money to fuel your escape from the Rat Race. WAY TO GO! Your blog approach is great as well - thanks for sharing all your progress along the way. I'm going to start doing the same thing. (I'm working on establishing my FIRST clickbank income stream now... using Traffic Geyser. I'm wondering if I need article syndication tool as well...)

Here's a question: What was the catalyst in your going from learning (but not earning) to earning consistently? It looks like SE Nuke is your main tool, but I'm interested in what else helped you start earning consistently. (Do you do videos w/ SE Nuke, or articles?)

I seem to remember a story where the Greeks burned their boats to ensure they knew there was only victory or death. When you're looking down the barrel of a gun you'll work much harder. If you've already had some success then take that as a sign.

Stay focussed on what is most important, and enjoy Perth a little less sleepy than NZ?

    Well done,
I did a similar thing on the 2 of July this year.
Having spent the last two years eating up as much information as possible I put together my little website network and made close to £20,000 in two weeks.

Day job bye bye. Even with that backing I'm a little nervous no more guaranteed pay checks at the end of the month.

    Good luck to you Zenj,

Zenji, I am very proud of your for making this brave decision I did the exact same thing a year ago and my life has turned around since.

You'll be fine as long as you remain focus and surround yourself with positive people.

Remember to set your goals! Break them down:
End goal --> Monthly Goals --> Weekly Goals --> DAILY Goals

    Best of luck.

Kudos for having the faith and going out on a limb! Most people are too complacent in their misery to try something "new and dangerous." Just by setting a goal, and publicly declaring it, you've already done most of the heavy lifting.

Keep going down this path, and don't make excuses. Excuses keep you from succeeding.

Sorry but I think IM is my passion and its the way to go. I don't really care about the money. AM going to concentrate on IM.

In order to make the internet marketing thing works for me I quit my day job and leaved the college. However, I don't want to mislead you saying that you should simply do the same. I was living with my parents and had food, clothes and a computer with internet connection. I had no budget, but didn't need money to live.

If your job is paying your bills and internet marketing ventures, you need to think very well before quiting it. If you think that you will find a way to pay for the basics and keep working on your online business it's ok, but, on the contrary, don't bet your whole life in this industry! It's risky and pretty much any method has a learning curve, so you don't want to say good bye to your current life before you are 100% sure that there is a new one waiting for you.

This is inspirational to me! It's great to hear stories like this.

I'm currently living with my parents (I'm 23 - not too old but definitely not too young ^^)

I've been working on the internet now for about a year and my dream is to move into my own flat, quit my 9 to 5 and actually be able to afford the rent while I'm working consistently on my business.

At the moment I work full time at my 9 to 5 and I have my parents distracting me when I'm at home. So even though I'm doing 12 - 18 hour days a couple of times a week into my business (needless to say I'm not hugely social right now it's not enough and I'm struggling to stay focused!

On top of that, my parents have announced that they now want to move to France so I'm getting the figurative kick up the arse to high-tail out of their place!

Fear can be a great motivator can't it

      Unfortunately I doubt it.

Australia especially Perth is one of the most over regulated and overpriced locations in the world.

Hang in there when you get those anxiety attacks, they pass, just do some deep breathing and some keyword research, throw up an affiliate blog, build some links, stick to your goals and celebrate your new lifestyle!!

            Best wishes courageous one.

How To Become A Super Affiliate In Niche Markets

Over the past years, web hosting has grown bigger than it used to be. With more companies getting into this business and finding the many benefits it can give them, the demand for web hosting has never been higher. These seem to be the trend of today.
38 million people have put up their very first websites online this year 2005 alone. It is estimated that by 2008, the internet sales industry will top then dollar bank. And to think, majority of those sites will be offering different affiliate programs for people to choose and participate into.
This only means one thing. It is easier now to find the right web host for your application. The possibility of quality web hosting companies separating themselves from the rest of the industry is anticipated. If this is done, the unprofessional and incompetent ones will suffer.
Support will be the number one consideration for people when choosing a web host. It will be obvious that traditional advertising will become less and less effective. Most people would rather opt for the web host based on things that they see and hear. Also based on the recommendations by those who have tried them and have proved to be a successful.
This is a great opportunity for web hosting affiliates and resellers alike. There would hundreds of web hosting and programs to choose from that the difficulty in finding the right one for them is not a problem anymore.
How does one become a successful affiliate in the niche markets using web hosting?
If you think about it, everyone who needs a website needs a web hosting company to host it for them. As of now, there is really no leading hosting industry so most people choose hosts based from recommendations. Usually, they get it from the ones that have already availed of a web hosting services.
With the many hosts offering affiliate programs, there is the tendency to find the one which you think will work best for you. Think of the product you will be promoting. Pattern them to the site and see if they are catering to the same things as you are.
When you have been with one host for quite some time and seem not to be making much despite all your effort, leave that one and look for another. There is no use in trying to stick to one when you would be before off in another one. Things will only have to get better from there because you already have been in worst situations.
Try this out. If you are quite happy and satisfied with your web host, try to see if they are offering an affiliate program you can participate on. Instead of you paying them, why not make it the other way around; them paying you. The process can be as easy as putting a small “powered by” or “hosted by” link at the bottom of your page and you are already in an affiliate business.
Why choose paying for your for your web hosting when you do not have to? Try to get paid by letting people know you like your web host.
Always remember that when choosing a web host, choose the one that is known for its fantastic customer support. There are also many hosting affiliate programs. Residual affiliate program is also being hosted. This is the program wherein you get paid a percentage every month for a client that you refer. This can allow you to have a steady source of income. With perseverance, you can even be quite successful in this field.
There are a lot of niche markets out there just waiting for the right affiliate to penetrate to them and make that dollars dream come true. Knowing which one to get into is being confident enough of your potentials and the good results you will be getting.
Web hosting is just one affiliate market you could try out and make some good and continuous income. Just remember that to be successful on your endeavor also means that time, effort and patience is needed.
Nobody has invented the perfect affiliate market yet. But some people do know how to make it big in this kind of market. It is just knowing your kind of market and making the earnings there.

It is a huge, huge plus to have the whole work day to work on your own business. Just make sure it pays the minimal expenses. I am speaking from personal experience. You can not get done much if you are working a 50-60 hour a week full time job.

Excellent story and it feels like the timing is perfect for you to make this journey. The first millionaire who mentored me shared an idea that led me to this positive thought for you to take with you, "there's little success without taking a big risk. After all, the fruit is always at the edge of the limbs where the branches are weakest. Grabbing for it risks life and limb, but the feeling of success when your basket is full is like no other experience in this world."

    Cheers,

one thing about I hate when you leave and quit your job. The fact that you have close friends true friends I mean. And its hard to adopt in an instant were in your daily routine will be different the moment you start a new work. There will be adjustments made and this is what I hate since your starting all over again.

It feels good not to wake up thinking of a damn office again and having the whole day to yourself is rather interesting.
Am picking up from the backlog of work created by my previous job and hopefully I should be able to make it big in this IM business. I have a lot of time to plan and implement my ideas and I wouldn't trade this for a high paying office job!
      Will keep you all posted.

Thats odd, right now my business partner is flying from the UK to NZ, it's his 2nd trip as he is moving out to NZ once he gets his visa/residency sorted.

Whats the appeal about Perth over NZ?

Zenji! Congratulations! I was browsing the Mind Warrior's forum and your post stood out, as I have just recently taken similar action to essentially 'quit my job' and put more efforts into IM initiatives. I also choose to maintain a part-time contractual position that requires me to report only 2 days/week so I may pursue IM with better focus!
Going further, I can relate to you on several levels, having just moved to the Philippines from Canada last year! New life, new opportunities and future success!
Wish you the best! Stay positive and keep believing.
